Dusty Springfield sang "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me". This was Dusty's only UK number one and it reached number four on the US chart.

Kathy Kirby had UK top ten hits in 1963 and 1964 and had a US number 88 with "The Way Of Love" in 1965. Petula Clark had a UK number four hit with "My Love" in 1966. It reached number one on the US chart. Louise Cordet had one UK chart hit with "I'm Just A Baby" which reached number 13 in 1962. It did not chart in the US.

Answer: The Overlanders

"Michelle" my belle sang The Overlanders, this was their only UK chart hit. It did not chart in the US but they had one US hit at number 75 in 1964 with "Yesterday's Gone"

The Beatles version of "Michelle" was an album track on "Rubber Soul". It was never released as a single. David and Jonathan's version of "Michelle" reached number 11 in the UK and was their only US chart hit at number 18. Jazz saxophonist Bud Shank who died in April this year had a US hit with "Michelle" at number 65 in 1966.

Answer: The Kinks

The Kinks had a "Sunny Afternoon". It was their third and final UK number one and reached number 14 on the US chart.

The Alan Price Set had a UK number nine in 1966 with "I Put A Spell On You". It reached number 80 on the US chart. Alan Price was an original member of the Animals. The Lovin' Spoonful had a UK number two in 1966 with "Daydream". It also reached number two on the US chart. The Mama's and The Papa's had a UK number 11 in 1966 with "I Saw Her Again". It was a number five hit on the US chart.
4. Who would give anything for this job they wanted so bad, with these lyrics? "If you really like it You can have the rights"

Answer: The Beatles

"Paperback Writer" was the song and it was The Beatles singing it. It was their tenth consecutive UK number one and their twelfth US number one.

Manfred Mann named after it's founder Manfred Mann, had a UK number one in 1966 with "Pretty Flamingo". It reached number 29 on the US chart. The Who have never had a UK or US number one but had the second of two UK number two hits with "I'm A Boy" in 1966. It did not chart in the US. The Troggs led by Reg Presley (no relation to Elvis) had their only UK number one in 1966 with "With A Girl Like You". It reached number 29 on the US chart.
5. Who had some very nice feelings with this song? "I don't know where But she sends me there"

Answer: The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys got "Good Vibrations" from this UK and US number one. It was their first UK number one and their third US number one. It is now recognized as one of the best records ever made.

Peter and Gordon had their last UK chart hit in 1966 with "Lady Godiva" at number 16. It reached number six on the US chart. Paul Revere and The Raiders never had a hit on the UK chart but had a number four hit on the US chart with "Kicks" in 1966. The Monkees, once publicized as America's answer to the Beatles (don't believe eveything you read) had a US number one with their fist release "Last Train To Clarksville". It got to number 23 on the UK chart in 1967.

Ike and Tina Turner had a UK number three in 1966 with "River Deep-Mountain High" (a Phil Spector masterpiece). It only reached number 88 on the US chart. Martha and The Vandellas had a UK number 22 chart hit in 1966 with "I'm Ready For Love". It climbed a lot higher on the US chart, reaching number nine.

The Small Faces had their only UK number one in 1966 with "All Or Nothing". It did not enter the US chart. The Animals had a UK number six hit with "Don't Bring Me Down" in 1966. It reached number 12 on the US chart.

"Somebody Help Me" pleaded The Spencer Davis Group in 1966. It was their second and last UK number one. It reached number 47 on the US chart.

Tommy James and the Shondells had a UK number 38 in 1966 with "Hanky Panky". It was a number one on the US chart. The New Vaudeville Band (it was session musicians on the record) had a UK number four in 1966 with "Winchester Cathedral" It reached number one on the US chart. This record won the 1967 Grammy Award for the best Rock and Roll record. Good Vibrations only came fifth that year, Doh! The Young Rascals had a US number one with "Good Lovin'" in 1966. It never entered the UK chart.

Frank Sinatra met "Stangers In The Night". It was only Frank's second UK number one and it also reached number one in the US.

Tom Jones had his second and last UK number one in 1966 with "Green Green Grass Of Home". It reached number 11 on the US chart. Cliff Richard had three UK top ten hits in 1966 the one without the Shadows being "Visions" at number seven. It never charted in the US. Jim Reeves had a posthumous UK number one in 1966 with "Distant Drums" It reached number 45 on the US chart.

Answer: The Four Tops

The Four Tops sang "Reach Out,I'll Be There". It reached number one in the UK in 1966 and it was their only UK number one. It was their second and last number one on the US chart.

Percy Sledge had a UK number four hit with "When A Man Loves A Woman" in 1966. It reached number one on the US chart the same year. It charted again in the UK at number two in 1987. ? and The Mysterians had a UK number 37 with "96 Tears" in 1966. It was their only number one on the US chart. The Buckinghams had a US number one hit with "Kind Of A Drag" in 1967. They never had any UK chart hits.
