Worst UK Boybands Trivia Quiz

Jennifer Love Hewitt is famous for her roles as Melinda Gordon in 'Ghost Whisperer', Liz in the 'Garfield' films and Sarah in 'Party of Five'. She also appeared in the Enrique Iglesias video for 'Hero'.
The Lyte Funky Ones' (also known as LFO) highest UK chart position was Number 6, with 'Girl on TV'.
The reason they were probably voted onto the Top 20 was the use of such lyrics as-
"New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits, Chinese food makes me sick."

Answer: Orange, Orange

Orange, Orange didn't seem to work well for them either!
Upside Down were showcased in a BBC documentary, following the creation and first few months of the band's career.
Their first single 'Change Your Mind' was originally written for Bad Boys Inc, another awful boyband!

Answer: Tito

Tito Jackson was the second oldest Jackson brother in the group Jackson 5.
3T were comprised of his sons Toriano, Taryll and TJ (all names beginning with 'T', hence the 3T!)
Michael Jackson duetted with the group on their single 'Why'; he also provided backing vocals for their song 'I Need You'.
I was quite surprised to find this band in the Top 20, as they were ranked 2nd (only after the Spice Girls) as Europe's best selling group of 1996.

Triple 8 only released 2 singles, 'Knockout' and 'Give Me a Reason', both only just reaching the UK Top 10 upon release.
Their debut album was cancelled, so the band split with their record company.

Answer: Northern Line

Ziggy's real name is Zachary Lichman. He entered the Big Brother house 2 days after the first 11 contestants (all women!) and soon started up a relationship with fellow contestant Chanelle, a wannabe Posh Spice. He came fourth in the competition.
Northern Line were a short lived boy band, whose highest UK chart position was Number 15, with their single 'Love on the Northern Line'.

Ariel and Gabriel Hernandez are the twin brothers; the other member is Marty Cintron.
They enjoyed UK chart success with their single 'Where Do You Go?' but were not successful in the UK afterwards. They did, however, reach Number 1 on the US Dance Chart with their single 'Kiss You All Over'.

Answer: No Sweat

'No Sweat' had 2 series; the first was centred around a boy named Jimmy (played by James Hurst) who moves to Brighton with his mother. After being bullied by 2 girls, he finds friends in Greg, Miles and Giles (played by the other band members) and they form a band in order to meet girls and make fast cash!
The second series found the band reverting to their real names and touring the UK in a broken down camper van.
Despite their first single 'Man Not a Boy' reaching Number 7 in the UK charts, their follow up single was a giant flop in comparison.

Answer: Making the Band

O Town were the finalists of the first series of 'Making the Band'; their first single 'Liquid Dreams' reached Number 3 in the UK charts. This was followed by 'All or Nothing', which achieved Number 4. After this the band swiftly found their singles entering the charts outside the Top 20.
The band were dropped from their label shortly after the release of their second album. Only members Ashley Angel and Tre Penick (now known as Tre Scott) found success after the band's failure.

Answer: Dr Hook

They had 10 UK top 10 singles, including 1 Number One hit covering the Dr Hook song 'A Little Bit More'.
911 were a very successful boyband, so I don't know why they were on the countdown!
In 2005, the band appeared on singing contest 'Hit Me Baby One More Time', which allowed past artists a chance to re-release their most famous single (the winner was Shakin' Stevens).
Jimmy Constable also participated in the MTV reality show 'Totally Boyband' in which 5 members of past pop groups were united as one group. The other members were Dane Bowers; of Another Level, Bradley McIntosh; of S Club and Danny Wood; of New Kids on the Block. Lee Latchford-Evans, formally of Steps, was kicked out of the band due to his lazy attitude and unwillingness to contribute.

Answer: Girls

One True Voice reached Number 2 with their single 'Sacred Trust/After You've Gone'. They only released one other single, the lengthily named 'Shakespeare's (Way With) Words'.
