Pinkerton is credited with developing entire new ways to spy on people, including shadowing them. If he had had a camera, he could have been paparazzi!

According to reports, on a warm day, the area around Commercial street still smells like molasses.

Clement Vallandigham was trying to get his client acquitted of murder. He reenacted the scene to prove that the supposed murder victim had accidentally shot himself. He was using what he thought was an unloaded gun ... but it was loaded. His reenactment was so good that his client was acquitted. Unfortunately, Clement Vallandigham died of his self-inflicted wound.
