Answer: David Bowie

David Bowie was a singer and an actor. Among the many songs he recorded was the song "Space Oddity". He was also in the movie "Labyrinth" where he played The Goblin King. He died from liver cancer at age 69. At the time of his death, he was married to model Iman. They married in 1992.

Answer: Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman appeared in many movies. He is probably best known, however, for his role as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter Septology (or should that be Octology since the 7th movie was a two-parter?). He was 69 at the time of his death when he died from pancreatic cancer. Very few people even knew he was sick.

He was married to Rima Horton at the time of his death. Although they didn't marry until 2012 they were together since 1965.
3. This former first lady died on March 6th. Who was she?

Answer: Nancy Reagan

Nancy Reagan was Ronald Reagan's second wife. They married in 1952 and were together until his death in 2004. She was also the First Lady of California before she became the First Lady of the United States. Like her husband, she was an actor. She appeared in the movie "The Crippler" among many others.

She is probably most remembered for her "Just Say No" campaign which urged people, especially younger children and teens to say "no" to drugs. She was 94 at the time of her death, from heart failure.

Answer: Don Francks

Don Francks played other voices on "Inspector Gadget" but the main one was Dr. Claw, who was Gadget's enemy. His daughter Cree Summer played the voice of Penny on the first season of the show. He died of lung cancer at the age of 84.
5. This man died on May 10th. He was the Prime Minister of South Korea from 1988-1990. Who was he?

Answer: Kong Young-Hoon

Kong Young-Hoon was born in 1922 when Korea was under Japanese rule. He was a division commander during the Korean War. In 1954 he became the Director of the Joint Chief of Staff at the Ministry of National Defense. He was 93 when he died. No cause was given so it may have been natural causes based on his age.

Answer: Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Clay Jr. in 1942. In the 60s, he became a Muslim and took the name Muhammed Ali. He was the heavyweight boxing champion in 1964, 1974 and 1978. He was also an Olympic gold medal winner. Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1984, although the public would not find out until many years later. He died of septic shock at age 74.
7. On July 2nd this author and Holocaust survivor died at the age of 87. Who was he?

Answer: Elie Wiesel

Elie Wiesel wrote the book "Night" about his experiences in the Holocaust. He lost both his parents in the Holocaust. In 1986, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. No cause was given for his death.

Gene Wilder appeared in many films including "Young Frankenstein" and "Hear No Evil, See No Evil". He was married to Gilda Radner from 1984 until her death in 1989. At the time of his death, he was married to Karen Boyer who he married in 1991. He died at the age of 83 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

Carrie Fisher is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the original "Star Wars" trilogy. She was the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. She was on a plane out of London when she had a heart attack. She died at age 60 from complications of that heart attack.

Debbie Reynolds was born in 1932. She was the mother of the late Carrie Fisher. She was married to Carrie's father, Eddie Fisher, from 1955-1959. They divorced when Eddie Fisher had an affair with Reynold's good friend Elizabeth Taylor. Reynolds has a surviving son Todd Fisher who is also an actor. According to her son, Reynolds last words were "I just want to be with Carrie".

She officially died of a stroke, but I believe she died of a broken heart. She was 84 at the time of her death.
