Answer: Pope Clement VII

Pope Clement VII, her uncle, was thrilled when King Francis I proposed marriage between his second son Henri and Catherine de Medici. Clement called betrothal of Catherine and Henri as "the greatest match in the world".
2. What occurred nearly a week after the future Henri IV's wedding?

Answer: St. Batholomew's Day Massacre

Margaret of Valois, daughter of Henri II and Catherine de Medici, a Catholic, married Henri of Navarre, a Protestant. In August of 1572 nearly a week after the wedding the massacre began in Paris with several thousand Protestants who had come to Paris for the wedding were killed. Thousands more throughout the country were killed in the days that followed.
3. How long was it before Louis XIII and Anne of Austria had an heir?

Answer: 23 years

The marriage followed the tradition of cementing military and political alliances between the Catholic powers of France and Spain. Louis and Anne's marriage was briefly happy as the King's duties often kept them apart. As it was it was twenty three years before they had an heir and that was after four stillbirths.

Answer: It was morganatic

Louis XIV's first wife Maria Theresa died 1683 and he still kept mistresses. Françoise d'Aubigné, Marquise de Maintenon was royal governess to Louis' children. Louis wanted her as his mistress but Madame de Maintenon's religious ways prevented her from becoming his mistress. Because of their levels in society the wedding was to be morganatic, which meant that Francoise would never be acknowledged as Louis' wife nor as Queen of France.

It did, however, become an open secret.

Answer: She was pregnant at the time of the wedding

After his first wife Maria Anna of Bavaria died, Louis remarried to his mistress Marie Emilie de Choin. Marie Emilie was pregnant at the time of the wedding and the later born son was sent to the countryside where he died aged two. The thing was it was to be a morganatic marriage with de Choin not acquiring the status of Dauphine of France.
6. What treaty brought about the wedding of Louis Duke of Burgundy and Marie Adelaide of Savoy?

Answer: Treaty of Turin

Turin had decided the marriage of Louis Duke of Burgundy and Marie Adelaide of Savoy, which ended the Franco-Savoyard conflicts during the Nine Years' War.
The Treaty of Troyes essentially made King Henry V of England heir to King Charles VII of France excluding Charles' son the Dauphin of France.
The Treaty of Edinburgh which would force the French troops out of Scotland.
The Treaty of Versailles ended World War I represented by German delegate Johannes Bell along with various members of the Allies.

Answer: 99

Of the 99 princesses as potential brides for Louis XV were Anne, Princess Royal and Princess of Orange (daughter of George II) and the Duke of Bourbon's own sisters Henriette Louise and Élisabeth Alexandrine. In the end Marie Leszczyñska of Poland, was finally chosen.
8. What happened to the first wife of Louis Dauphin of France?

Answer: Death in childbirth

At first Louis and his first wife Maria Teresa Rafaela of Spain didn't get along but soon after the Dauphine gave birth to a daughter she died three days later. His grief was so intense that his father, Louis XV, had to physically drag him away.

Answer: Twice

In February 1770 Maria Antonia formally renounced her rights to the Habsburg domains and in mid April she was married by proxy to Louis. A month later at Versailles the now French sounding Marie Antoinette and Louis were married.

Answer: Louis XVIII of France

As his father's eldest surviving son The Comte de Provence proclaimed himself as Louis XVIII after the confirmed death of her brother, Louis XVI's, death. Marie-Therese was King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette's only surviving child agreed with her uncle to marry her cousin Louis-Antoine Duke of Angouleme. They never had children.
