Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Appeared in movie "Young Winston", but not as a doctor

Answer: Jane Seymour

Jane Seymour was born in England 15 February 1951, and her acting credits for the year she turned 21 (1972) included the TV mini-series "The Strauss Family", appearances in the series "The Onedin Line" and the biopic about Sir Winston Churchill, "Young Winston". (Side note: I saw that movie at the Odeon Leicester Square, in London, England that August.)

She might be best known, at least in North America, for portraying "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman" on TV from 1993-98 or possibly for her appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2007.
2. Elected Rector of University of Edinburgh, other posts came later

Answer: Gordon Brown

Born 20 February 1951 in Scotland, at 21 Gordon Brown became the youngest (to that date) rector of the University of Edinburgh, at which he was then pursuing his Master of Arts degree in History. As rector he acted as chairperson of the University Court, the highest governing body, and served for three years.

Brown was first elected to the UK Parliament as a Labour MP in 1983, and by 1985 was a member of the Shadow Cabinet. After Labour formed the government in 1997, Brown served as Chancellor of the Exchequer for ten years. In 2007 he succeeded Tony Blair as Prime Minister of the UK, serving in that capacity until 2010.
3. Appeared in a sci-fi comedy movie, having already been in the business for ten years

Answer: Kurt Russell

The movie "Now You See Him, Now You Don't" involved a spray that could make one invisible, and the crooks who tried to get it away from the young inventor, played by Russell, who was born 17 March 1951 in Massachusetts.

His earliest work had been in the TV series "The Dick Powell Show" and "Dennis the Menace", both in 1962. From 1963-64 he played the title role in the series "The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters". Unlike many child stars, he made the transition to adult roles, including one in 2016's "Deepwater Horizon".

What was probably her most famous role had come in 1968, when she played Juliet to Leonard Whiting's Romeo, in Franco Zeffirelli's version of "Romeo and Juliet" when she was still a teenager. Her later career has included voice work for "Star Wars" video games.

10. Appeared in episodes of "The FBI" and "Night Gallery", with no droids in sight

Answer: Mark Hamill

Five years later, in 1977, he would come to be known as Luke Skywalker, appearing with the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO (and some humans) in the original "Star Wars" trilogy. He reprised the role in 2015's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens".
