Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Leviticus 15 spoke of what law?

Answer: the law of uncleaness

Leviticus 15:1-33. It is a good chapter to read. It breaks down how you are clean at first, but in some situations you can be unclean.
2. Micah was preaching in the days of what three kings?

Answer: Ahaz, Jotham, and Hezekiah

Micah 1:1. Micah is one of the 12 "minor" prophets in the Bible. He preached about how God would reclaim Israel in his time. His book lasts seven chapters.
3. What was David's punishment for numbering Israel and Judah?

Answer: a day's pestilence

2 Samuel 24:15. David felt bad about sinning against God, so Gad, his seer, went to see David. God gave David a choice out of three punishments: seven years of famine, pursuit by his enemies for three months, or pestilence. David didn't say anything regarding these. So a day's worth of pestilence came upon Israel. 70,000 lives were taken because of this pestilence. Pestilence means "disease".
4. How many total books are there in the King James Version of the Bible?

Answer: 66

No specific verse. There are exactly 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament.
5. Who died on Mt. Gilboa with King Saul?

Answer: His armourbearer and his sons

1 Samuel 31:6. The Philistines pursued Saul toward Mt. Gilboa. Saul's three sons, Jonathan, Abinidab, and Melchishua were killed first. Saul asked his armourbearer to kill him, but he wouldn't because he was scared. Saul took a sword and then fell on it. His armourbearer did the same thing.
6. Who died ten days after having "his heart dying within him and becoming as a stone"?

Answer: Nabal

1 Samuel 25:37-38. Fun fact: Nabal means "fool" in English. Before this happened, Abigail, Nabal's wife, had a conversation with King David. King David was planning to hurt Nabal for disrespecting him. Abigail convinced David to not slay Nabal. Then Nabal had a feast like unto a king's and Abigail didn't tell him about this convo until the next morning. Nabal was struck by God so that his heart died within him and he was frozen for ten days.

Then, he died.
7. God said to Satan, "Hast thou considered my servant ---" KJV

Answer: Job

Job 2:3. Satan wanted to see if Job would lose his faith in God if he struck him. God told him about Job's obedience and faith saying he's a perfect and upright man, one who fears God and eschews evil. (KJV used)
8. According to 2 Corinthians how many times was Paul beaten with rods?

Answer: thrice

2 Corinthians 11:25. The verse also mentions all the pain Paul went through. He was stoned, (but God healed him), suffered a shipwreck three times, and he was in the deep of the waters a night and a day.
9. During Jesus's trial, how many times did a girl accuse Peter of knowing Jesus?

Answer: twice

Matthew 26:69-72. "Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice." - Jesus to Peter. The third time Peter was asked if he knew Jesus, he was asked by a host of people rather than just one person.
10. What day of the week did the LORD bless and sanctify?

Answer: the 7th day

Genesis 2:3. This is also mentioned in Exodus 20 as the Sabbath Day. That's why I observe it on Saturday not Sunday. The LORD created the earth in six days and he rested the seventh. The KJV does not mention him resting on the first day (i.e. Sunday). At the Israel of God, my church, we observe the Sabbath on Saturday rather than Sunday.
11. Who was cursed unto death for eating honey during a fast?

Answer: Jonathan

1 Samuel 14:25-29. Saul, Jonathan and his army were plundering the Philistines. Saul issued a decree saying that if you ate anything that day, you'd be cursed unto death. Jonathan didn't know about it, or maybe he didn't listen. He found honey near wood and ate it.
12. Where did Paul send Tychicus?

Answer: Ephesus

2 Timothy 4:12. Paul is letting Timothy know how his comrades are doing in this letter to him. He also gives good advice to Timothy in this letter. I think Paul was imprisoned at this time.
13. What was the name of the king who set Jehoaichin free from prison?

Answer: Evilmerodach

2 Kings 25:27. Evilmerodach wasn't so evil after all. Get it? He freed Jehoiachin from prison and allowed Jehoiachin to dine with him at his table. He even gave Jehoiachin a spot in his government.
14. Who was seen dead with a peg in his head by Barak?

Answer: Sisera

Judges 4:21-22. Barak pursued Sisera during a war. A woman allowed Sisera in her tent and when he fell asleep, she drove a peg through his head. Then Barak came to the tent and the woman let him see the dead body.
15. What happened to Eglon's body after he was stabbed?

Answer: His bowels discharged

Judges 3:22. Ehud went to the palace Eglon had for himself. He told him he had a secret message for him. The people were ordered out, except for Eglon and Ehud. Ehud stabbed him and you know what came next.
16. Moses was a great and humble person, but there was one flaw he had. What was it?

Answer: He wasn't that great of a speaker

Exodus 4:10. He said this to God after the signs God showed him. Moses was of a slow tongue as he described.
17. How many days did Jonah predict Nineveh's destruction?

Answer: 40 days

Jonah 3:4. Both he and Nahum wrote of Nineveh's destruction. I can see why Jonah was angry at the Assyrians. They were Israel's enemies at this time.
18. What city was Paul in at the time he raised Eutychus from the dead?

Answer: Troas

Acts 20:9. Paul was preaching while Eutychus fell asleep and out the window. He was presumed dead, until Paul told everyone that life was in him. He got Eutychus on his feet and they ate dinner.
19. Fill in the blank: "________ is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall it drive it far from him." KJV

Answer: Foolishness

Proverbs 22:15. Solomon is trying to spread some knowledge to discipline our children. I will not mention some cases where it has come into play. There's another part in the book of Proverbs that mentions "Spare the rod, spoil the child".
20. How did Pharez get his name?

Answer: he came first out of his mother's womb

Genesis 38:29-30. Twins, Zarah and Pharez were born as a result of Judah's adultery with Tamar (who he thought was a harlot). Pharez came out fully after Zarah stuck his hand out. Then, Zarah came out from his mother's womb. Because of this, Tamar gave Pharez his name. Pharez means "breakthrough" in English.
21. In Matthew, The kingdom of Heaven was likened unto how many virgins?

Answer: 10

Matthew 25:1. It goes on to say that five of them were wise, the rest, foolish. It says so in the KJV. Jesus was speaking in parables (meaning he was telling a story). He goes on to say that one reason why half of them were wise was that five had lamps with oil while the others didn't.
22. How many banquets did Esther host?

Answer: 2

Esther 5:4 and 7:1. The second banquet was when Esther revealed her true request.
23. How did Jacob get tricked into marrying his lover's sister, Leah?

Answer: Laban snuck Leah in the tent

Genesis 29:23-25. There are hints out there that say Jacob was drunk during his wedding feast and that's how Laban tricked him.
24. What Pharisee gave a feast that Jesus attended?

Answer: Simon

Luke 7:36-50. Jesus is quoted saying this regarding faith and forgiveness: "Thy faith hath saved thee go in peace."
25. Who said, "Let me die with the Philistines!"

Answer: Samson

Judges 16:30. The last words Samson uttered while wreaking his final revenge on the Philistines.
