Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Find the match for the number of days Lazarus had been in a tomb before being raised from the dead by Jesus. (John 11:17)

Answer: 4

Lazarus had been in a tomb for four days when he was raised from the dead by Jesus, as per John 11:17. When Jesus told the people to take away the stone from the entrance to the tomb, Martha, a sister of Lazarus, expressed a sense of futility at such an exercise.

In other words, Lazarus' body was well beyond the stage of rigor mortis. The body had begun to stink in the hot Mediterranean sun. Moments later, Lazarus would miraculously rise from the dead at the command of Jesus, according to Scripture.
2. Find the match for the number of months Gentiles will trample on Jerusalem, as per Revelation 11:2.

Answer: 42

According to the 11th chapter of Revelation, Gentiles will trample on Jerusalem for forty-two months. Revelation 11:2, in the NKJV, states the Gentiles "will tread the holy city underfoot", while the NIV says they will "trample" Jerusalem.

Revelation was written by John after he had a vision while he was in exile on Patmos, an island in the Aegea Sea. Patmos is part of Greece.
3. Find the match for the number of demons Jesus drove out of Mary Magdalene.

Answer: 7

Mark 16:9, as well as Luke 8:2, state Jesus had driven seven demons out of Mary Magdalene. However, no details are given, with the verses simply stating the demons had been driven out previously.

Mary was among a number of women who followed Jesus and she was the first to see Him after the resurrection, as per John 20:11-18.

In my opinion, she's one of the most misunderstood people in the Bible. To this end, I invite you to play another quiz I have posted on FunTrivia. It's called 'Facts About Mary Magdalene: True or False?'
4. Find the match for the number of disciples Jesus gave the Great Commission to, as per Matthew 28:16-18.

Answer: 11

The Great Commission was given to eleven disciples, not twelve, as Judas Iscariot had committed suicide as per Matthew 27:3-10. According to Scripture, Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver and after being filled with tremendous remorse, he took his own life. The Great Commission, of course, was instructions Jesus gave to the eleven disciples to make disciples of all the nations and to baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
5. Find the match for the number of years the woman had an infirmity in which she could not raise herself up before being healed by Jesus. (Luke 13:11)

Answer: 18

According to Luke 13:11 in the NKJV, the woman healed by Jesus "had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up." However, her life changed dramatically after Christ came into her life.

According to Luke 13:12-13, Jesus simply stated "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity," and when He laid His hands on her she was "immediately made straight" and "glorified God."

Scripture goes on to state the unnamed ruler of the synagogue was indignant about the healing because it took place on the Sabbath.
6. Find the match for the number of elders falling down "before Him who sits on the throne" and worshiping Him "who lives forever and ever." (Revelation 4:9-11)

Answer: 24

According to Revelation 4:9-11, John, the writer of Revelation, had a vision of twenty-four elders falling down "before Him who sits on the throne" and worshiping Him "who lives forever and ever."

Revelation is the final book of the New Testament and it was written by John of Patmos. Tradition holds the writer was the same John who was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus; however, some modern theologians dispute the claim. For the record, I am firmly on the side of tradition.
7. Find the match for the number of miles Emmaus is from Jersualem, as per Luke 24:13.

Answer: 7

Yes, seven miles is the correct answer, as stated in Luke 24:13. (In the Greek units of the day, the distance is given as 60 stadia.) It was on the road to Emmaus Jesus made a post resurrection appearance to Cleopas and another unnamed person as they were walking along the road. See Luke 24:13-27 for details.
8. Find the match for the number of days two witnesses dressed in sackcloth will prophesy, as per Revelation 11:1-10.

Answer: 1,260

Two witnesses dressed in sackcloth will prophesy for one thousand two hundred and sixty days, according to Revelation 11:3. Revelation 11:7-14 goes on to tell of the two witnesses being killed and rising from the dead once again. Revelation is the last book of the New Testament and its contents have perplexed and challenged readers for close to two thousand years.
9. Find the match for the number of Wise Men who followed the star from the east to find baby Jesus. (Matthew 2:1-12)

Answer: No number is given

No specific number is given in the Bible, but it is widely assumed there were three Wise Men because the baby Jesus received three different gifts -- gold, incense and myrrh. However, the correct answer to the question has to be 'no number is given'.
10. Find the match for the number of the chapter in John in which Jesus makes the famous declaration, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Answer: 3

The famous declaration is found in the third chapter and the sixteenth verse of the Gospel of John. Jesus made the declaration to Nicodemus, a Pharisee, who met with him during the evening hours. It was during the conversation Jesus told Nicodemus he must be born again. (See John 3:3-8.)
