Castor oil can prevent your body from absorbing needed nutrients and should not be used as a remedy for constipation during pregnancy. Laxatives should also be avoided unless your provider advises you to use them. Increasing your fiber intake is also a good idea, provide you also drink plenty of fluids; otherwise, it can have the opposite effect.
