1. How many umpires is there on the ground in an AFL match?

Answer: 9

There are two goal umpires, four boundary umpires, and three field umpires. There are also emergency umpires but they are not on the ground.
2. Which of these is not a position in Aussie rules football?

Answer: Goalkeeper

Full forward is in the attacking goalsquare, Wing outside the centre square, and ruck follows the ball, making the tap-outs at ball-ups or throw-ins. Goalkeeper is a soccer position.
3. How long is the goal-square?

Answer: 9 metres

The fullback and the full forwards hang around the goal-square but not always. Fullback kicks in from the behinds.
4. How many points is a goal worth?

Answer: 6

9 points is a goal kicked from outside the 50m line in the preseason, 3 points is a rushed in preseason, and 1 is a normal behind. Goal umpires judge if it is a goal or a point.
5. What colour and how many flags do the goal umpires wave for a goal?

Answer: 2 white

Two orange is for a 9-point goal, 1 orange for a 3-point behind, and 1 white is for a behind. The goal umpires keep score.
6. How long is each quarter (not including time on)?

Answer: 20 minutes

Most quarters last 30 minutes approximately with time on.
7. Where can you legally tackle?

Answer: Between the knees and the shoulder

A below the knee tackle, the umpire will award a free kick for a trip. Above/over the shoulder, and they will call 'too high'.
8. What shape is a footy ground?

Answer: Oval

The goals are at either end (long ways). The interchange bench is on the side.
9. How far does the ball have to travel off the boot to be a mark?

Answer: 15m

The umpire will call "Play on, no 15" if it is not far enough. It may not be a mark off a handball.
10. If attempting a soccer (kick off the ground) to a bouncing ball, the ball must hit below the ________ to be a fair kick.

Answer: Knee

This also applies for 'Out on the Full'. If you are chasing the ball to the boundary line and it hits you below the knee, it must be called 'Out on the Full'.
