Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When did Cronulla join the Sydney rugby league competition?

2. In the 2000 and 2001 seasons, what was Cronulla's official name?

4. Counting replays as a second Grand Final, when Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks won their first-ever Grand Final it was their ____ Grand Final appearance.

Answer: 5th

A bit of a tricky one that, they lost the 1973 grand final 10-7, then drew the 1978 Grand Final with Manly 11-11, and lost the replay 16-0, so they played two that year, then lost to Brisbane in the 1997 Super League Grand Final, before winning their first in 2016 vs. Melbourne Storm.
5. What are the first names of the famous father and son duo Rogers?

Answer: Steve and Mat

As at the end of the 2000 season, Steve and Mat Rogers share the club record for most points in a match (ahhh ain't that cute), being 26 points.
6. In which years did Cronulla win their first two minor premiership?

Answer: 1988 and 1999

In 1988 they lost the major semi to Canterbury 26-8, and the preliminary final 9-2 to Balmain. In 1999, they beat Brisbane 42-10 to advance to the preliminary final, only to be knocked out by St George-Illawarra, 24-8.
7. What is the nickname of former Cronulla great Andrew Ettingshausen?

Answer: E.T.

Well I had to give you one easy one didn't I?
8. Who coached the Sharks before John Lang took over in 1994?

The big man himself.
9. Who captained the Sharks in the year 2001?

10. How many different names has the Sharks home ground had, from 1968 to 2001 inclusive?

Toyota Park (the ground's name in 2001) was previously known as Shark Park, Caltex Field, Ronson Field and Endeavour Field ... who knows how many more name changes we will have in the future!
