The Collingwood Football Club was established on February 12th, 1892. Three months later, on May 7th, they played their first game against Carlton.
2. Why were the late 1920s such a successful time for Collingwood?

The success began with a Premiership win over Richmond in 1927. The final score was 25 to 13, making it the lowest Grand Final score in VFL/AFL history.

The 1928 Grand Final saw Collingwood defeat Richmond again (final score: 63 to 96).

In 1929, Collingwood went through the entire season undefeated. Their biggest win came in Round 13 with an 86-point-win over Hawthorn. They went on to once again defeat Richmond in the Grand Final, winning by 29 points.

In 1930, Collingwood won their fourth consecutive Premiership, this time defeating Geelong by 30 points.

Their Brownlow medallists during this time were Syd Coventry (1927), Albert Collier (1929) and Harry Collier (1930).
