Carl Yastrzemski won the Triple Crown in 1967 with a .326 average, 44 home runs (which tied Harmon Killebrew for the A.L. lead) and 121 Runs Batted In. Frank Robinson won the Triple Crown in 1966. Mickey Mantle won it in 1956. Barry Bonds never won a Triple Crown.
2. Which of the following never hit a home run in the World Series?

Answer: Willie Mays

Despite appearing in four World Series in his career (1951, 1954, 1962 and 1973), Willie Mays never hit a home run. Mike Schmidt hit 2 home runs in the 1980 World Series. Hank Aaron hit 3 home runs in the 1957 World Series. Roger Maris hit 2 home runs in the 1960 Series, and one in each of 1961, 1962, 1964 and 1967.

Joe McCarthy won a pennant managing the Chicago Cubs of the National League in 1929. He won eight pennants managing the New York Yankees of the American League in 1932, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1942 and 1943. Bucky Harris won pennants managing the Washington Senators of the American League in 1924 and 1925, and managing the New York Yankees of the American League in 1947.

He never led a National League team to the pennant. Yogi Berra managed the New York Yankees of the American League to the pennant in 1964 and the New York Mets of the National League in 1973. Alvin Dark managed the San Francisco Giants to the National League pennant in 1962 and captured the American League flag with the Oakland Athletics in 1974.

He won two games in that Series against the Royals. He later lost a game against the Orioles in the 1983 Series against the Orioles. Carlton also lost a decision in the 1967 Series against the Red Sox while pitching for the Cardinals.

Answer: Kenny Williams

In 1922, while with the St. Louis Browns, Kenny Williams led the American League with 39 homeruns. He also stole 37 bases, putting him decades ahead of any of the others to accomplish this feat. In a career that spanned 14 seasons, Williams did not reach 30 homeruns or 30 stolen bases in any other year.
