Green Bay didn't secure the championship until the last game of the season, a 6-6 tie, leaving their record at 10-3-1. At 13-4 the New York Giants finished as runners-up. The Portsmouth Spartans and Chicago Bears both had 6-1 records (and a combined 10 ties, which didn't count in the standings) which set up the first ever playoff game for the NFL title, which was won by the Bears 9-0.
