Answer: Carolina Hurricanes
Following the previous season's lockout, the Hurricanes made their second ever Finals appearance (their first was four years earlier in 2002). They bested the Oilers in 7 games for their first-ever win. The series was said at the time to have helped bring hockey back after missing the entire previous season.
2. 2007
Answer: Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks (formerly the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim) won their first championship in their second appearance in the finals. The series was a 4-1 victory over Ottawa Senators. Travis Moen scored the winning goal.
3. 2008
Answer: Detroit Red Wings
Former Ducks coach Mike Babcock lead his second team to the Stanley Cup Finals. He'd previously lost the 2003 finals. This time his Red Wings beat the Penguins in six games.

Answer: Pittsburgh Penguins
Same two teams as 2008, nearly the same results. After taking a 3-1 series lead, the Red Wings lost three straight games to let the Penguins avenge the previous season's loss. It was the third championship for the Penguins (1991 and 1992 were their first two), and the 13th finals loss for the Red Wings.

Answer: Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks bested the Flyers in six games. It was the first finals appearance since 1992 for Chicago. Patrick Kane scored the game-winner in the deciding game. It was the first championship for coach Joel Quenneville.

Answer: Boston Bruins
Boston won its 6th Stanley Cup with the 7-game series over Vancouver. It was the first championship for coach Claude Julien. Patrice Bergeron scored the series-winning goal.
7. 2012
Answer: Los Angeles Kings
The Kings won the first championship in franchise history with a 6 game series over New Jersey. Jeff Carter scored the game-winner in the first period of the deciding game.
8. 2013
Answer: Chicago Blackhawks
The Hawks won their second title in four seasons (they won in 2010). They beat the Bruins in 6 games. It was the second title for Chicago coach Joel Quenneville.
9. 2014
Answer: Los Angeles Kings
The Kings won their second title in three years (they won in 2012). Daryl Sutter lead his team to a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers. Coach Alain Vigneault of the Rangers lost in the finals for the second time in four years. He had lost the 2011 finals as coach of the Canucks.

Chicago won its second title in three years, and third in five seasons. This time the series was over in 6 games against the favored Tampa Bay Lightning.
