Clemens was the fifth Yankee pitcher to be awarded this great recognition. Bob Turley was the first Yankee in 1958, Whitey Ford in 1961, Sparky Lyle in 1977, and Ron Guidry in 1978 before Clemens stellar year with a 20-3 record in 2001.
2. The great Mel Ott played with what other team besides the Giants?

Answer: He was always a Giant

Ott was one of those loyal players who spent his entire career with one team. He played 22 seasons with the Giant club from 1926 to 1947.
3. When was the first season-opener night game played?

Answer: 1950

It was April 15th, 1950 at St. Louis Sportsman Park between the Cardinals and the Pirates. The Cardinals won 4-2.
