Major League Baseball team, the Boston Red Sox started playing at Fenway Park in 1912. It has held the World Series on multiple occasions, the first in its inaugural year.

Eden Park, the largest stadium in New Zealand, is located in Auckland. It opened in 1900 and is mainly used for cricket and rugby union. It hosted the final of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. The Blues (formerly the Auckland Blues), formed in 1996, have played most of their home matches there.

Everton F.C. moved into Goodison Park in 1892. It was one of the first grounds built specifically for football in the world.

Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh is the home of the Scottish Rugby Union. It has hosted international matches since England's visit in its first year, 1925. Originally called Melbourne Gardens, Franklin's Gardens takes its name from a nineteenth century owner. An English first class rugby union side, Northampton Saints have played there since the late 1880s. Unusually, the ground has a cenotaph, at which remembrance events take place.

Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, has hosted many national and international cricket matches. The second largest cricket venue in the world, behind the Melbourne Cricket Ground, it was the first stadium to host a Cricket World Cup final away from Lord's, in 1987.

One of the world's iconic sporting venues, Madison Square Garden has been home stadium for teams including the NBA's New York Knicks and NHL's New York Rangers. It has hosted other sport, including many boxing events, and also been a major music venue.

One of the most beautiful Test cricket grounds in the world, the Adelaide Oval was built in 1871 by the South Australian Cricket Association. In 1884 it became the sixth venue in the world to stage a Test match. It has mainly been used for cricket matches and Australian rules football, including the Adelaide Football Club, nicknamed the Crows, which was formed in 1991 and started playing home games there in 2013.

The Kensington Oval is located in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. It was built in 1871 and has staged cricket matches since 1882, including over 40 Test matches as a home venue for the West Indies. The ground hosted the 2007 Cricket World Cup final. The Barbados Tridents represented the island in the Caribbean Premier League at Twenty20 cricket.

The United Center was built for the NHL team Chicago Blackhawks in 1994. Chicago Bulls of the NBA moved in that year, and the Blackhawks took up residency in 1995 - later than planned because of the 1994-95 NHL lockout.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was home to two football teams: USC Trojans football and the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL. The stadium was commissioned in 1921 as a memorial to LA's World War I service personnel. It has been used as the main stadium for two Olympic Games, in 1932 and 1984.
