Genoves I made his debut at the 1974 championships and then won it in 1975, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1984 and 1989, being the dominant player in the sport for a 20 year period. This despite rule changes being brought in, forbidding him from playing "per alt" (on guard) and forcing him to play "per baix" (down) in order to give the opposition a chance. Between 1979 and 1983, organisers insisted he play with his brother Pepe, who was at best an average player, and he still won the crown. Genoves I retired in 1995 after winning the Trofeu Individual Bancaixa in which he beat Alvaro, a player 20 years his junior in the final.

Although the glory years may be behind this team from the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid, fans believe that the trophies will come their way again soon, so well run is the organisation at grass roots level, boasting 16 teams, including children's and youth teams as well as a successful ladies team.

They also manage to attract well known names to the club, such as South African coach Arno Hood and New Zealander Laurie O'Reilly under whom they won the Division de Honor in 1990 and 1995.

BM Granollers were founded in 1944 and seem to ooze success with their women's and youth teams also having won Spanish championships. The team won the European Handball Federation Cup Winners' Cup in 1976, becoming the first Spanish side to win a European title and have gone on to win the EHF Cup in 1995 and 1996.

The achievement of Granollers historic treble in 2002 was all the more impressive when you consider the fact that the club was only formed in 1986. Two of the clubs better known players were Carlos Carreño and Juanjo Salvador, both of whom represented Spain at the 2000 Olympics.

Answer: Atletic Terrassa

Atletic Terrassa from the Catalonia region of Spain were founded in 1952, but started setting records in 1983 when they began their run of nine consecutive league titles. The following year, they won their first Copa del Rey trophy, and dominated that competition too, winning it for ten out of the next 13 years.
