Alfred went into the room where the Batphone was to let Commissioner Gordon know that he would summon both Batman and Robin. In the other room, Bruce and Dick were seen putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Dick commented on how difficult it was since the pieces were upside down on the table.

At police headquarters, Robin asked why The Joker would steal a hole from the golf course so Batman answered that it was likely due to a wealthy person arriving in town. According to Batman, this person enjoyed playing golf so he and Robin suspected that The Joker planned to rob him since he was scheduled for a round of golf that day.

They both immediately left Gotham City Police Headquarters and headed straight for the golf course.

The Maharajah was at the golf course playing a round of golf when a hole exploded after he putted his ball into it. This caused him and those around him to pass out due to the sedating gas. The Joker's men quickly got out and abducted the Maharajah.

This led Batman and Robin to ponder the note's meaning so Batman suspected it might have had something to do with The Joker's hideout. He brought up the name of a refinery which had the word "cats" in it, suspecting that was where The Joker was. Robin stated that it all sounded too easy.

Once they got to the front door, Batman told Robin they should not surprise The Joker and instead simply walk into the place in a direct manner. Batman was surprised when the front door was unlocked, making his and Robin's entrance into the refinery too easy.

Batman and Robin noticed The Joker and his men sitting down in one place in the refinery. They got out their batarangs and flung them in the direction of the men but unfortunately hit a wall of glass separating them from the men. The Joker's men then ambushed Batman and Robin, tying them up.

The Joker used a device to neutralize the gadgets in Batman and Robin's utility belts for at least an hour since he felt this would be enough time for him to kill the Dynamic Duo. His men whisked Batman and Robin off to a nearby tank and locked the door with the two inside. The Joker then started to fill the tank with poisonous gas.
