Darlene was making pancakes, and Becky was finishing up about a dozen scrambled eggs. Roseanne told Dan he did have to eat it, and he had to like it and he had to act surprised.

It was not much of a surprise, as Dan already figured it out. But, he did seem genuinely delighted when he saw a tall stack of pancakes with a lit candle in it, surrounded by a lot of other breakfast foods. He blew out his birthday candle and DJ asked him what he wished for.
