She had her sister, Ruth Brent, and Ruth's husband, Ted Brent, adopt Phil so Nick would not find out he was Phil's biological father. Nick, eventually, learned the truth and he and Phil bonded.

Answer: Agnes Nixon

Agnes Nixon, who is considered a daytime legend by many, created "All My Children" and got the green light to debut it in 1970. Nixon came up with the story bible for the show in 1965 but executives turned it down. After the success of "One Life to Live" (which Nixon created), she was asked to come up with a new soap opera and that was when she submitted her bible for "All My Children" and the show debuted on January 5th, 1970, on ABC. Nixon remarked, during an interview, that she recalled being asked to launch another soap opera and she had doubts of wanting to do this but her husband encouraged her to submit her bible for "All My Children."
