Zach Grayson's dead body was turned up and a whodunit was launched, by "AMC", as to who killed him. There were many people that wanted to kill Zach since he drugged Nina and got her into his bed and then had Cliff's sister, Linda, snap photos of this to send to Cliff.

He even tried to sell the photos to Cliff so Daisy attempted to sleep with Zach in order to get the pictures. Zach also took pictures of Cynthia Preston in order to blackmail her. Daisy was convicted, of Zach's murder, and sent to prison.

It turned out that Marian was Zach's killer since Donna recalled being at Zach's apartment, the night of the murder, and she saw a pocketbook that had a "W" on it. However, the "W" was upside down and it actually had an "M" on it. Donna realized that the pocketbook was Marian's. Marian was sent to prison, for killing Zach, but "did a favor" for the warden and got out early.

Answer: Kate Martin

The pillar of Pine Valley society, Kate Martin, took her last breath in 1985. The entire town of Pine Valley was devastated when she died since they all saw her as the best part of all of them. Kate was called "Gran" by her grandchildren and always helped them with their troubles. In real life, the actress who portrayed Kate, Kay Campbell, had also died.

Answer: John Voight

Angie was in medical school, in 1985, and one of her professors was named Dr. John Voight. Dr. Voight attempted to take advantage of Angie by telling her that she could improve her grades if she slept with him. Angie debated whether or not to tell the heads of the hospital that Dr. Voight had sexually harassed her.

She told the hospital superiors and Dr. Voight's employment was terminated at Pine Valley Hospital.

Answer: Tibet

Mike Roy was shot and believed to have been dead when he investigated a scandal involving the legal system. Erica was devastated since Mike was her lover so she decided to have him cremated. She took the ashes and scattered them in Tibet since Mike had a fascination with that region. Mike Roy turned up alive in 1998.

Answer: Bob Georgia

Tad managed to get a divorce, from Dottie, in 1985 and he wanted to move on with his true love, Hillary Wilson. At the time, Hillary was engaged to Tad's best friend, Bob Georgia, and decided to go through with marrying him since he had a terminal illness. Hillary wanted to make Bob's days the best of his life. Hillary and Bob married, in 1985, and he died shortly after their wedding. Tad and Hillary got married the next year.

Answer: She failed to reveal a source

"AMC" decided to do a story on freedom of the press, in 1985, and they put Brooke English at the center of the story. Brooke was a journalist, for Tempo magazine, and was urged to reveal a source for one of her stories. Brooke decided to keep her source confidential and she was sentenced for refusing to reveal her source. Brooke went to prison, for a couple of months, but she was eventually released.

When Brooke went behind bars, "All My Children" became the first soap opera to go on location and record scenes in an actual prison, the prison being Sing Sing.

Answer: Jeremy Hunter

Erica got a job, for Tempo magazine, and she met Jeremy Hunter while she was at that job. Erica realized that Jeremy had been sent to Pine Valley, from Tibet, since Mike Roy was the monk that he saved in Tibet. Erica and Jeremy fell in love but Jeremy wanted to put a halt on their relationship since he had taken a holy vow of celibacy. Erica was still determined to be in love with Jeremy and he eventually broke his vow.

Answer: Nina Cortlandt

Donna was looking forward to marrying Benny Sago but Nina did not like that Donna was happy. Since Nina's mother, Daisy, went to prison for Zach Grayson's murder (for more, see "Interesting Info" section for question one), Nina blamed Donna for her mother's unhappiness. On the day of Benny and Donna's wedding, Nina took a gun to the wedding and tried to shoot Donna. Nina fired a shot but she missed.

However, the consequence for her was being committed to a mental hospital. She eventually got better and was released from the hospital. Donna eventually forgave Nina for nearly killing her.

Answer: Cynthia Preston

Palmer got himself involved with a manipulative woman named Cynthia Preston. She managed to get him to marry her and Palmer realized that all Cynthia wanted was money and power. Palmer managed to get out of his marriage, to Cynthia, and they eventually divorced. Legendary soap opera actress, Jane Elliott, originated the role of Cynthia.

In 1981, Elliott won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role of Tracy Quartermaine on the ABC soap opera, "General Hospital." Other Daytime Emmy nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress, that year, were Elizabeth Lawrence for "All My Children", Jacklyn Zeman for "General Hospital", Randall Edwards for "Ryan's Hope", and Lois Kibbee for "The Edge of Night."

Answer: Natalie Marlowe

Jeremy got frustrated, with Erica, so he went to his father's home up in Canada. Alex Hunter was Jeremy's father and, in 1985, he was married to a younger woman named Natalie Marlowe. Natalie had a past, with Jeremy, and wanted to win him back and get away from his father, Alex. Natalie came up with a plan to seduce Alex Hunter to his death. Alex eventually died in a hunting accident.
