Kate Collins pulled double duty in 1991 and 1992 when she played both Natalie Dillon and Janet Green. Janet came to town in 1991 as a frumpy, overweight, woman and wanted to take over Natalie's life. She lost weight and dyed her hair to match the color of Natalie's. One night, she confronted Natalie and looked exactly like her. She tossed Natalie in a well and left her to die.

Dixie grieved for Tad since he was presumed dead but she became entranced by a new stranger in town named Craig Lawson. Craig convinced Dixie that he was an old friend of Tad's and this helped him get close to Dixie. Craig and Dixie dated, fell in love, and he proposed marriage to her. Dixie accepted and she wed Craig.

However, Dixie found out that Craig planned to swindle her out of her money and she divorced him (he also did not personally know Tad. Dixie found this out as well).

Hayley found out that "Natalie" was really Janet and she confronted Janet about impersonating Natalie and taking over her life. Janet knocked Hayley out and kidnapped her. Brian Bodine, Hayley's boyfriend at the time, rescued Hayley from Janet but he got shot in the process. Brian survived.

An Li arrived in town in 1991 as an immigrant from another country. Adam Chandler, Hayley's father, disapproved of Hayley's relationship with Brian and wanted them apart. He told An Li she had to marry Brian to not only get Hayley away from Brian but so she could get her green card. An Li and Brian married but Brian truly loved Hayley and An Li realized this.

They divorce and An Li left town.

Jack befriended Brooke in 1991 and this upset Erica. Erica schemed and made some arrangements in advance to get Jack away from Brooke and to her hotel room. Before Jack went to see Erica at her hotel room, Adam informed him of what Erica had done. Jack blasted Erica and broke up with her. He also told her what Adam had told him. Adam went to Erica's room and they had a huge fight.

Erica realized that she was still legally married to Adam since Stuart posed as Adam during their initial divorce proceedings in the mid 1980s. Erica was upset and Adam blackmailed her into renewing their vows. Erica agreed and they called a minister over so they could renew vows.

The minister announced that Adam and Erica were still husband and wife and that he could kiss the bride. When Adam lifted Erica's veil, Erica thanked the minister, paid him, and sent him off. Erica saw a limo outside and Adam said he wanted to whisk Erica away in a limo. Erica told Adam absolutely not and that she hated him.

Dimitri Marick rescued Natalie from the well that was on his property, Wildwind, and nursed her back to health at his home. This was when we also met Helga Voynitzeva, Dimitri's mother-in-law since he was married to her daughter, Angelique (It was believed that Angelique died in a car accident years ago.

However, she was really alive). Helga was a villainess and committed many crimes, one of which was burning Hugo Marick's will (this document revealed that Edmund and Dimitri were biological half brothers).

Erica and Brooke had a couple of fights, in 1991, but it was only during one of them that either of them got physical and Brooke was the one who went that route. Erica was over at Brooke's house and Brooke told her to leave. Erica told Brooke that she could not believe that Jack would actually be interested in Brooke since Brooke was always a loser. Brooke told Erica to be careful and Erica called her a bad name. Brooke slapped Erica and Erica eventually left Brooke's home.
