It was at the first annual Crystal Ball that Adam saw someone and it looked a lot like a woman from his past named Joy Hawkins. Joy was a woman that Adam knew and she died years prior to this sighting of Adam's. The person was actually Camille Hawkins, Joy's daughter, and she came to town to get revenge on Adam since she accused him of being the reason why Joy died.

2. In February, who had sex with Gillian?

Answer: Scott Chandler

Gillian and Scott were planning on getting married so that Gillian could not be deported back to her native country of Hungary. They decided to show that they were in love and they had sex. On their wedding day, Ryan interrupted the ceremony and convinced Gillian to marry him, instead of Scott, and Gillian accepted. That was when Ryan and Gillian married for the first time.

3. In March, who learned that "Axel Green" was really an actor that Janet hired?

Answer: Trevor Dillon

Trevor proposed marriage to Janet and she declined his offer, at first, since she made a vow to Natalie that she would not marry Trevor. Janet claimed that her ex husband, Axel Green, came back to town and wanted to get back together with her and she accepted his proposal.

In reality, this "Axel Green" was really an actor that Janet hired and Trevor found out about this. Janet decided that she truly loved Trevor and wanted to be his wife and they married a couple of months later, in May of 1998. Before Janet married Trevor, she asked Natalie for her blessing and Natalie's ghost told Janet she had her blessing.

4. In April, Brooke shot Jim Thomasen dead since Jim threatened to go after Brooke's son, Jamie. Where was Jamie located at this time?

Brooke got proof that Jim was behind the plane crash of TransGlobal Flight 149 and that he, also, took pornographic pictures of her adoptive daughter, Laura. Brooke sent Jamie away to Pigeon Hollow for a little while so he would be safe from Jim. Brooke confronted Jim about the plane crash and his past with Laura and held a gun on him. Jim told Brooke he was going to harm Jamie and knew he was in Pigeon Hollow. Brooke shot Jim dead.

Answer: Adrian Sword

Adrian Sword arrived in Pine Valley in May of 1998 to investigate Palmer's theft of Nazi art paintings. While he was in town, he met up with Mike Roy, who was his partner in the case involving Palmer. Palmer's theft of the Nazi art paintings caused his marriage to Opal to end in divorce. Matthew St. Patrick originated the role of Adrian.

6. In June, Opal hired someone to be her what?

Answer: Chauffeur

Opal decided that she wanted to have some help around Cortlandt Manor so she looked into hiring someone to assist her. She asked Belinda Keefer to find her some people who were interested in working for her. Belinda introduced Opal to Adrian Sword and Adrian told Opal he could cook, garden, and drive. Opal hired Adrian to be her chauffeur, much to Palmer's disappointment.

7. In July, what prompted Dixie to return to Pine Valley?

Answer: Adam sued her for custody of JR

Dixie showed up in Pine Valley when she got a summons to appear in court due to how Adam sued her for custody of their son, JR Chandler. Dixie was furious but agreed to return until the custody proceeding was done. Right after the Holidays restaurant explosion, Dixie arrived amidst the rubble and comforted Tad. Dixie decided to stay in Pine Valley for a little longer.

8. In August, who was stuck in a crypt in the Wildwind mausoleum?

Answer: Marian Colby

Marian befriended a man named "John" but she did not know that "John" was really Lee Hawkins, the mad man who came to town to get revenge on Adam. Lee knocked Marian unconscious and locked her inside the mausoleum. Marian got inside a crypt to hide but she soon realized that she could not get out. Stuart came to Marian's rescue and she lived.

9. In September, who found out that she was pregnant?

Answer: Liza Colby

Prior to September of 1998, Liza asked Tad Martin to donate his sperm so she could get artificially inseminated and have a baby and Tad would be the father. Tad declined so Liza asked other potential donors and Jake Martin agreed to donate his sperm. Liza was artificially inseminated but Adam purchased the clinic where Liza went to and he switched his sperm sample with Jake's so he, not Jake, was the father of Liza's unborn child. Liza took a pregnancy test in September of 1998 and it confirmed she was pregnant.

10. In October, who comforted Erica after Mike Roy left town and Jack turned her down?

Answer: Dimitri Marick

Erica chose to be with Jack over Mike and Mike decided to leave town but, before he did, he and Erica had sex one more time. Jack found out about this and told Erica that, even though she chose him, he did not choose her. Erica felt all alone but it was in October of 1998 that her ex-husband, Dimitri, comforted her. Dimitri escorted Erica to the second annual Crystal Ball that was held on New Year's Eve of 1998/New Year's Day of 1999.
