Dixie was suspicious about Leslie since it seemed as if she and Tad were spending an awful lot of time together. She decided to investigate so she broke into Leslie's hotel room where she located many of Tad's personal assets: wedding ring, shirts, pens, etc. Tad did admit to Dixie that he slept with Leslie.

Hayley was charged with killing Arlene, but Mateo suspected that Arlene was actually alive. He managed to track Arlene down in the Caribbean and brought her back to Pine Valley. Once this happened, Hayley was cleared of all charges while Arlene left town a short while after this incident.

Mia Saunders arrived in town and she gave Marian some trouble. Mia informed Marian that she planned to divulge to Liza about Mia being Liza's half-sister but Marian wanted Mia to keep quiet. Mia blackmailed her for money in exchange for silence so Marian paid up with the hopes that Mia would not admit this revealing fact about Liza's family tree.

Brooke was grateful for all that Leo had done to give Laura the will to live. She decided to repay him by offering him a job at Tempo magazine. Leo decided to accept this offer so he worked at Tempo for several months.

Tad started to get a sneaking suspicion that David was planning on harming Joe. However, it was revealed that David was actually assisting Joe on his medical decision. It turned out that David's help made Joe feel much better.

Mateo got roped into the Proteus drug trafficking issue in Pine Valley. Proteus asked Mateo to go to an undisclosed location and drop off some money for a henchman to pick up. The henchman arrived and attempted to frame Mateo for money laundering but Mateo got the upper hand by stabbing him. No charges were filed against Mateo.
