Josh came back to town and had a score to settle since he stole money from Zach. There was a showdown at Zach's casino where Josh held Reese hostage. At one point, Zach was able to get a clean shot at Josh and shot him in the head. Josh was pronounced dead and his heart was transplanted into Kendall.

JR had been sober for many months but that would not last long since Amanda kept coming around him reminding him of Babe, such as certain articles of clothing she wore. Annie had been hospitalized for many months due to her breakdown and the sad memories from her past continued to creep up. Annie claimed to Aidan that she befriended someone at Oakhaven named Tori. However, Aidan realized that Tori was a hallucination of Annie's since Richie killed Tori years ago.

When Annie realized this, she became saddened but Aidan helped her through the problems she faced.

Jesse went to Chandler Mansion when it was reported that someone had been shot there. He noticed someone stand up outside so he shot that person since Jesse believed him to be the shooter. However, it was Tad so he was rushed to the hospital. After Tad survived his brain surgery, he constantly cracked jokes amongst family and friends along with pulling other strange behavior.

Frankie had been recalled to active duty and suffered a wound to his hand while in service. Randi informed Angie that he was being treated at a military hospital over in Germany. While Randi went to be with her husband, Angie was tempted to go there but then realized she should stay behind in Pine Valley since she was also needed there.

Answer: Madison North

Henry North was a District Attorney in Pine Valley but he also had a checkered past since he once paid Randi for sexual intercourse while Randi was a hooker. One night, Henry came onto Randi so she fought him off and knocked him out. Randi stepped out and found Jesse and told him what happened.

While she was out, Madison stopped by Henry's room and used a bookend to kill Henry. However, Randi and Jesse both feared that he was already dead due to Randi's actions.

Answer: Krystal Carey

Erica was asked to go on a mission to Africa to help out starving children. She was also accompanied by her nemesis, Krystal, but the two put aside their differences in order to aid these vulnerable humans. While in Africa, a scorpion frightened both women but Erica took care of it.

Answer: Adam Chandler and Annie Novak

Adam had been in a romantic relationship with Annie for several months since he felt he owed it to her due to how big a help she was on the night Stuart was shot. They decided to hold a wedding ceremony at Chandler Mansion to kick their relationship to another level. They exchanged vows despite the fact that many family and friends warned Adam to not marry her.

Answer: Aidan Devane

Aidan had kidnapped Kendall since he was furious with her for causing Greenlee to be presumed dead. Zach found out where Aidan had her so he went to go rescue his wife. In the end, Aidan was arrested and subsequently sent up the river. Many fans disapproved of how out of character this story was for Aidan. Aiden Turner also spoke out against this exit for his character.
