Greenlee was revealed to be alive back in December of 2009 but it was the following month when she awoke from her coma and had trouble feeling her legs. David, who nursed Greenlee back to health, informed her that she could get surgery to regain sensation in her legs but he advised her that the surgery could kill her. Greenlee was determined to get back to Pine Valley so she told David she wanted to get the surgery done on her.

In early January, in a conversation with Greenlee, David told her he consulted with a colleague named Dr. Clayton regarding her surgery. Greenlee's surgery proved to be a success.

"AMC" fans were thrilled when it was announced that Emmy winning actress Julia Barr would return to the show in February, reprising her role of Brooke English. Brooke's first airdate was February 23rd in what ABC promised would be an exciting story arc. Prior to this return, Brooke was last seen in December/2006 and the show's 40th anniversary. Barr exited the role again in April of 2010 when Adam and Brooke reunited and left town.

Annie found out through test results that her DNA was a partial match for JR and she could donate her bone marrow to help save his life. Annie underwent surgery to extract some bone marrow to use on JR and therefore keep him alive. She told JR a couple of days after his bone marrow transplant that she was his donor.

David was arrested for paying off a coroner in Connecticut to falsely claim that Greenlee was dead. During his trial, Greenlee testified to how she had just found out that Kendall ran her off the road before David found her nearly lifeless body and she swore him to secrecy on her being alive. David was acquitted but Angie informed him shortly thereafter how she spoke with the medical board about his legal problems.

She gave him a letter which said his license had been suspended.

Amanda was being stalked while she worked for Fusion in April of 2010 and she found out in the beginning of May that her stalker was her mother, Janet. Janet told her she wanted to take her and Amanda's son, Trevor, to Europe so they could live as a family. Amanda asked Janet how she planned to get through security at the airport so Janet showed her Natalie Dillon's passport (Natalie was Janet's twin sister). Amanda rolled her eyes but Janet informed her how Natalie had been dead for many years so it was not as if she would use it anymore.

Erica got furious with Caleb when she realized that he hid her cell phone from her so she pointed a gun at him. She informed him that she was going to go down the mountain but it was on her way down when she slipped into a pit. As the pit caved in, Caleb reached in and pulled Erica out to safety. When Erica was about to thank Caleb, he disappeared.

Damon was on medication for Attention Deficit Disorder and Liza managed to find it and steal it. To make it seem as if the medication wasn't stolen, she asked David to provide her with some placebos for Damon to use. Liza did this in hopes that Damon may behave erratically enough to where Colby would dump him.

Marissa oversaw JR and Annie in a close encounter and immediately went to Scott to complain about it since he and Annie were engaged. As they spoke about JR and Annie's closeness, Scott and Marrisa gave into temptation and made love. At this time, Marissa was married to JR.

Caleb threw a party at the yacht club to celebrate his having ties to the Cortlandt family and it was during the celebration when David and Ryan fought in a separate room. David collapsed in front of all the guests and was then pronounced dead. As Ryan fought with David just prior to his death, he was arrested for his murder. Once David's autopsy revealed his cause of death as a result of poisoning, Ryan was released from jail without any charges filed against him.

Even though Angie was blind, the Hospital Board of Pine Valley Hospital permitted her to remain as Chief of Staff. When she first went back to work after the Board's decision, she caught Frankie breaking hospital policy and told him that he got no special treatments just for being her son. Frankie apologized to Angie while she joked with him that she would beat him with her cane the next time she caught him violating hospital policy.
