Answer: Pegasus is the Beast; Galactica is the Bucket

A month after the events of 'Sacrifice,' Apollo and Dee's relationship has become intimate, and Dee asks if he is ready to go into the "belly of the Beast," Pegasus' new nickname, along with Galactica's "Bucket" designation. This is followed by Dee finding out Apollo has been promoted thanks to the new pips on his uniform, something that Apollo had not previously mentioned to her because he did not consider it to be a big deal.

Answer: A pregnant woman

Tyrol grabs a flashlight and proceeds to move inside. There, he finds a pregnant woman who first asks if she is on Galactica. After Tyrol confirms this, she wants to know if he is Dr. Cottle, so she is taken to the infirmary.

Answer: The engine room

Commander Garner was previously chief engineer aboard the Pegasus, which leads him to a very detailed and black-and-white thinking pattern. When talking with Lee, he mentions that he would not cut Starbuck (the new CAG aboard Pegasus) any slack because the "snipes" (workers in the engine room) were never cut any slack themselves.

He says "the engine room is like a finely-tuned watch, and everything in it needs to be monitored and maintained in a very precise fashion. Nobody freelances. Everything is done in the proper way at the proper time in the proper order, or there'd be no power." This kind of thinking puts him directly at odds with the out-of-the-box Starbuck.

Answer: Gaius Baltar

Zarek, speaking into a mirror initially, says that he is fully capable of leading the fleet and had a chance to win the presidency at one point, but then President Roslin went from "politician to prophet." However, he feels that Baltar is already pre-sold to the fleet because of both his current office of Vice President as well as his standing as the leading scientist in the fleet.

It also becomes clear that he wants to use Gaius to enhance his own political power as well, since he mentions he wants a man who "remembers his friends."

Answer: She wants an abortion

The Gemenese woman, Rya Kibby, is four months pregnant and wants an abortion, but Gemenese law bans the practice despite abortion being legal in the Twelve Colonies. She had previously contacted Cottle about getting the procedure done, which is why she specifically asked for him in the container.

While overhearing a conversation between Rya and Adama, Cottle mentions (not very subtly) that she can request asylum for political persecution, which she promptly does.

Answer: The survivor count

After Sarah Porter (the Gemenese representative) leaves, Roslin stands firm on her belief that she will not outlaw abortion, nor will she turn over Rya to her parents - whom she belongs to according to Gemenese law. When she still won't budge, he quotes something Roslin says from the miniseries: "If we really want to save the human race, we better start having babies." This appears to have a profound impact on Roslin.

Answer: Commander Garner

After confirming that a distress call existed, Apollo tells Garner about Starbuck's theory that it is fake and was used to draw away the Raptors. Upon finding out it was Starbuck's theory, Garner is very resistant to agree, even when both Apollo and Admiral Adama both believe it is a trap.

Answer: Hit by 2 nukes, knocking out the jump drive

Just as Starbuck and both Adamas predicted, the distress call was a Cylon trap. Pegasus is immediately hit with a nuclear missile that knocks out the jump drive, followed by another nuke. Garner leaves CIC in order to go down to the engine room and fix the jump drive, which he does not believe the crew understands how to do.

There, he suffocates while bringing back up engine coolant pressure, allowing Pegasus to jump away.

Answer: Major Adama

Returning from the Battle of the Binary Star System, Lee gives his report to Admiral Adama, which praises Garner for giving up his life for the crew of the Pegasus. He does mention that Garner was "used to working with machines; command is about people." Admiral Adama tells him to remember that, and promotes Lee to Commander of Pegasus.

Answer: He would run for president

With Six looking on, Baltar announces that he cannot support Roslin's opinion, since every right that is taken away from the people the closer they come to the Cylons. While he would accept the decision in his current position, he would not have the restriction of having to back the current administration as President.

He therefore announces "I'm afraid that I have no alternative but to announce that I am as of now a candidate for the presidency."
