He told her that Anders had died from a piece of shrapnel hitting his aorta. The internal bleeding was too much to save him. Simon was curious about the injuries as they appeared to be from abuse she would have suffered as a child and that the reason she might not want to have children is because she was afraid to pass on the abuse. The accusation made Starbuck furious and she told the doctor to get out of her room.

Simon had called Kara by her callsign, "Starbuck", but she had only told him her name. When he mentioned the callsign, she suspected that he wasn't a resistance doctor, but a Cylon, and when she saw the Number Six, her theory was all but proven. When she stuck the shard of mirror in his neck, Simon said, "You can't kill me." She later saw another version of his model when she was escaping.

According to Sharon, there are several of these "farms" in which the Cylons wish to create the hybrids. The Cylons believe it to be the next step in their evolution. The Cylons can't procreate, which is one of the beliefs of their religion, so they set up the farms to try and procreate through humanity.

The good-bye to Anders was "a promise to return", which we are unsure of. Starbuck then gave Anders her dogtag as a token that she meant to come back for him. Anders promised to destroy the farms that held women. Starbuck, Helo, and Sharon boarded the heavy raider and left to go home to Galactica.
