During the opening credits, C.J. gave a press conference and alerted the reporters there how the FBI had arrested someone suspected of being involved in the shootout and he would be questioned later that day. A reporter asked if she could give them any information, such as a name, ethnicity, and a motive for the shooting. C.J. stated she could not release that information but she mentioned the name of Stephanie Abbott, a woman from Maryland who was injured in the shootout.

Abbey sat next to Donna in the hospital waiting room and noticed she appeared very upset over Josh so she asked if she would like to go and splash some water on her face in hopes of making her feel better. Donna turned to her and asked if she should be doing something at that moment back at the office but Abbey said she was sure everything was covered back at the west wing.

They both sat and waited patiently to hear more on Josh and President Bartlet.

There was a flashback where Sam attended a meeting with a group of people who discussed purchasing some oil tankers and they wanted Sam's input. Sam stated how he had an unpopular opinion and that it was to not buy them. Sam backed up his reasoning by saying the tankers were cheap and that meant they could easily break, especially since they had no navigation systems.

Zabriskie portrayed Isabel for just this episode for the series.

Garfield, born on November 22nd, 1939 in Newark, New Jersey guest starred as Roger in this episode. Roger was involved in flashbacks concerning C.J. and when they argued one day while C.J. worked at her job in the entertainment industry. This argument led to C.J. getting fired. Garfield appeared as Roger in just this episode of the series.

In a flashback which centered on C.J., she was seen going home in a cab as she broke her eyeglasses and therefore could not drive home. He stated the guy's name the FBI had in custody was Carl Leroy and how Carl was a member of West Virginia White Pride.
