The "red" part clued in both of them that Commissioner Gordon just called up.

Batman and Robin got to Gotham City Police Headquarters where they heard Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara brief them about Shame's recent activities. Commissioner Gordon mentioned that Shame was only stealing one item from each car he saw. In one car, he stole a carburetor while he lifted the pistons from another and middle heads from a third automobile.

Near the beginning of the episode, Shame and his cohorts were seen at their hideout and the narrator mentioned that it used to be a movie studio. When Shane was first seen there, he was grinding his ax on a metal grinder. Shame mentioned that he planned to use the ax on Batman and Robin.

Shame tied Batman and Robin to the ground, then shot off his gun to have a stampede of cattle come towards the Dynamic Duo.
