When the opening credits roll, you can see that Christina Kim and Jordan Rosenberg were credited for penning this episode of "Lost." For the first five seasons of the show, Kim wrote a total of six episodes while Rosenberg wrote just this episode. Rosenberg has also written episodes for the TV series, "The Middleman", while Kim has written episodes for the TV series, "Ghost Whisperer", and also produced episodes of "Ghost Whisperer."

When the episode began, Claire was in a flashback and she was in a banged up car and she noticed that her mother, Carole, was in the road and injured. It was also revealed, in another flashback, that Carole knew Dr. Christian Shephard, Jack's father. Arlene Newman-Van Asperen portrayed Carole Littleton in this episode of "Lost."

We continued to see Claire, in flashbacks, and it was in one of them that she was shown, in Sydney, working at a tattoo parlor. When she did work there, one day, Christian came in and told her he was leaving for the day and he wanted to have coffee with her. It was while they had coffee that Christian informed Claire that he and her mother had a fling that resulted in Claire's birth.

Christian and Claire continued to talk, about Claire's growing up, and he mentioned that he wanted to spend time with her but Claire's mother would not allow it.
