Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the last thing Danielle tells Jack before they encounter Ben?

Answer: This is my home now

The survivors continue their trek through the jungle, in hopes of getting to the radio tower and being able to send a distress call to Naomi's ship. However, before they could get to the tower, they would all be forced to face one last challenge. While talking to Rousseau about the woman's reluctance to leave the island (Rousseau tells Jack that the island is her home now), Jack runs into a familiar, but not very attractive face: Ben.

The "other" tells Jack that he wishes not to harm him or any of his friends; he just wants to talk. Once Kate have checked the perimeter and confirmed that Ben is indeed alone (only accompanied by the apparently harmless Alex), Jack decides to follow him and hear what Ben has to say.
2. In order to coax Jack into stopping his escape attempts, Ben orders Tom to kill Sayid, Bernard and Jin. How much time does Ben tell Tom to wait before shooting them?

Answer: 1 minute

Ben tells Jack that he is playing a very dangerous game, as Naomi and the crew of her boat are not what they seem. According to Ben, they are the "bad guys": a group of people who has been trying to find the island and, apparently, are willing to do anything, including killing Jack and the other survivors, to fulfill their objective. Jack, of course, doesn't believe him, so Ben decides to take drastic actions by calling Tom using his radio and ordering him to kill Sayid, Bernard and Jin in one minute, unless he says otherwise.

The next scene is very dramatic, as Jack finds himself in a no-winning situation: he either ignores Ben and let three of his friends die or he agrees with him and wastes a magnificent opportunity to return home. In the end, Jack decides to keep his promise to Sayid (never look back, no matter what happens) and, once the minute has passed, three shots are heard. Consumed by desperation and anger, Jack grabs Ben and punches him repeatedly in the face, leaving him barely conscious.

Then, he takes the radio and tells Tom that the next time they will meet, he will kill him.
3. According to Bonnie, the code to deactivate the Looking Glass is related to a song by the Beach Boys. Which is this song?

Answer: "Good Vibrations"

In the Looking Glass, Mikhail decides to follow Ben's orders and shoot Greta, Bonnie and Charlie. However, before he can shoot the third, Desmond shows up and uses a spear gun to shoot Mikhail in the heart, apparently killing him. After this, Charlie goes to an agonizing Bonnie and asks her for the code.

She initially refuses to say anything but eventually reveals it. Since neither Desmond nor Charlie could hear the full code, the woman tells them that the buttons in the keypad of the operations room are actually musical notes, and that the person who programmed it used a song ("Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys) to create the code.

After this, Bonnie passes away. With no other choice than trusting in the words of an "other", Charlie decides to go to the room and try to use the buttons to play the song while Desmond walks around the station in search of scuba diving gear.
4. What is the last thing Charlie does before he drowns?

Answer: He makes the sign of the cross

Charlie goes to the operations room and successfully deactivates the station's jamming equipment using Bonnie's last clue. Very satisfied and relieved, Charlie prepares to leave when he notices that a button with the label "Incoming Transmission" is glowing.

He presses it and a monitor turns on, revealing that someone from the outside world is trying to communicate with the station. Charlie and the mysterious person talk for a few seconds until finally the screen clears up, revealing the person to be Penelope Widmore. Charlie immediately calls Desmond, who starts walking towards the room but gets distracted by the fact that Mikhail's body is gone. Meanwhile, Charlie continues to talk with Penny and learns a terrible truth; Naomi was lying all along.

She is not part of Penelope's search team and the frigate that is supposedly waiting for her in the ocean was not hired by the Widmores. However, before Charlie can assimilate this, he hears a strange noise and turns around, only to see Mikhail Bakunin, outside of the station, holding a grenade. With no time to waste, Charlie rushes to the door and closes it, locking himself in the room and leaving Desmond out.

A few seconds later, Mikhail blows up the room's window, flooding it. At first, Charlie is stunned to see that destiny finally caught up with him, but the heroic man quickly recovers and uses his pen to deliver Desmond one last message: "Not Penny's boat". After this, Charlie gives Desmond a brief smile and makes the sign of the cross. Despite the fact we do not see it, it is almost a certainty that Charlie drowned a few seconds later.
5. Which of these do not kill anyone during the final confrontation in the beach?

Answer: Juliet

In the beach, Ryan and Tom are discussing about the fact that they disobeyed Ben's orders and decided not to kill Sayid, Bernard and Jin while Sawyer and Juliet are hiding in the tree line, analyzing the situation and discussing what they should do next.

It is in this moment of great tension when, all of a sudden, Hurley shows up, driving the Dharma van he found some weeks prior to this event. Ryan is the first of the "others" to notice his presence but, despite his best attempts, he is unable to stop Hurley and is run over by the van. Sawyer, seeing his chance, goes into the camp perimeter and, after grabbing Ryan's gun, confronts the "other" who was keeping Sayid, Bernard and Jin hostages.

However, before Sawyer can do anything, Sayid, noticing that the "other" was distracted, tackles him and then uses his legs to break his neck.

After this, Tom tries to grab a gun that was left on the sand, but Juliet stops him from doing so. Having no other choice, Tom surrenders but Sawyer shoots him either way, in revenge for having kidnapped Walt. Once this tense situation is over, Hurley uses a radio to contact the "others" and announce their victory, but instead he finds Jack.

In the middle of the jungle, the survivors celebrate the fact that everyone is alive (nobody is aware of Charlie's death) and that they are only a few miles from the radio tower and, possibly, their way home.
6. How many people enter the radio tower operations room?

Answer: 5

Jack takes a severely injured Ben back to where his fellow survivors are and orders them to tie him up. After this, the doctor goes away and tells Kate, who decided to follow him, the whole truth about what Ben did. Meanwhile, Alex learns from his "father" that Danielle Rousseau is her mother and the two share a very intimate moment.

Some minutes later, the survivors resume the trek, now taking Ben as a prisoner. A few hours after this event, Jack receives Hurley's message, regarding the situation at the beach. Completely relieved, the survivors keep on walking and, some time later, Charlie's sacrifice takes place; the Looking Glass stops working and Naomi can finally use her phone.

Unfortunately, Rousseau's distress call is still blocking the transmission, but it doesn't really matter, as they have finally reached the radio tower. Jack and Rousseau, accompanied by Alex, Kate and Naomi, enter the tower's operations room and turn off the signal. Naomi, however, is still incapable of using her radio, so she decides to get out of the room and see if she can get a better signal from the outside.
7. What weapons do we see Locke using in this episode?

Answer: A knife and a gun

Naomi finally gets the signal and starts calling her frigate, while the survivors wait expectantly and Ben begs Jack to reconsider his actions, as doing what he is trying to do is only the "beginning of the end". But it is then that a knife is seen flying through the air and sticking through Naomi's back, apparently killing her. Everyone turns around and see Locke standing nearby.

A very angry Jack tries to confront him, but Locke takes out a gun and threatens to shoot him unless he gives up his intentions of leaving the island. Jack grabs Naomi's phone nonetheless and Locke, despite believing that Jack is not meant to leave the island, puts the gun down and goes back into the jungle. Now surrounded with calmness again, Jack makes the call and contacts a man named Minkowsky, who promises to find their coordinates and rescue them as soon as he can.
8. What's the name of the funeral parlor Jack visits?

Answer: Hoffs / Drawlar

Jack visits a funeral parlor named Hoffs / Drawlar, where a ceremony is being held. However, when he enters the building, nobody is there, only the coffin. The man in charge of the place reveals Jack that a funeral is indeed being held but for unknown reasons, nobody showed up.

After asking Jack if he wants him to open the coffin and receiving a denial, the man leaves Jack alone. The doctor then gets closer to the casket, looking deeply saddened and, after a few seconds, he leaves. Some time later, Jack visits a pharmacy, where he is trying to get a refill of Oxycodone (it seems that Jack has developed an addiction to this medicine).

The doctor uses all means necessary, including using a prescription apparently signed by himself (Jack said that it was his father who had actually signed the paper), but in the end he is denied the medicine and opts to leave.
9. What was the real reason of the car accident, according to Dr. Hamill?

Answer: The driver got distracted by Jack's suicide attempt

Back in the hospital, Jack is trying to steal Oxycodone when Dr. Hamill shows up. He tells Jack that the surgery on the woman he saved went very well and the woman woke up a couple of hours prior to this event. She was completely lucid so they asked her if she remembered the day of the accident.

The woman then revealed that she got distracted by a man who was about to jump off the bridge. Hamill doesn't say it directly but it is obvious that he believes Jack was that man. After this, Jack gets very aggressive so Hamill asks him how much he has drunk that day. Jack then ironically comments that if Hamill can get Christian Shephard and discover that Jack is drunker than him, then he can fire him.

After this, a very embarrassed and humiliated Jack decides to leave the hospital and go home.
10. What's the last thing Jack says to Kate in the last part of his "flash-forward"?

Answer: We have to go back

Jack's last part of his flashback is mind-blowing, as we discover that this was not a flashback at all, but actually a flash-forward, which portrays Jack's situation after leaving the island. In his apartment, Jack makes a final attempt to contact the person he wanted to see and, at last, he finds them.

After arranging a meeting, Jack drives to the airport and, after a few minutes, another car shows up, revealing Kate to be in it. Jack seems to be happy to see her but, for unknown reasons, Kate seems not to.

The first thing the doctor does is showing Kate the article he read in the newspaper, regarding a person's death. Jack is surprised that Kate didn't show up at the funeral, but the woman quickly replies that she had no reasons to attend that funeral.

After that, the doctor tells how miserable his life has turn since they left the island and how, every time he flies, he expects anxiously the plane to crash, so he can go back. Jack now believes it was a mistake to return home. After hearing this, Kate decides to leave, as "he" is waiting. Jack cannot stop her but he starts screaming "We have to go back" as she sees her former love interest drive away.
