Answer: John's dad

At the beginning of the episode John went to a brig on the island, and saw his father there, bound to a chair. Ben came out and said that John brought his father there but John denied bringing his father to the island. When John removed the gag from his father's mouth to find out how his father got to the island, his father bit him.

In a previous episode of "Lost", we found out that John's father stole John's kidney so he could live.

Answer: James "Sawyer" Ford

Kate's first scene from the episode "The Brig", saw her in bed with Sawyer. She woke up and got dressed and Sawyer asked her where she was going. She replied to him that she was going back to her own tent since she could not sleep. Sawyer offered to go to her tent but Kate told him she wanted to be alone.

Answer: John Locke

When Locke walked through one part of the island, he came upon Sawyer and Sawyer held him at gunpoint. Sawyer wanted to know how Locke's tour of "blowing up the entire island" went and why Locke joined the enemy. Locke commented that he did not join the enemy but infiltrated them. Sawyer did not believe him but Locke told Sawyer he kidnapped Ben Linus, a member of The Others, to prove he was not with the enemy.

Near the beginning of this episode of "Lost", there was a flashback from three days. In the flashback, John and others were in one location, on the island, working on the fields. Someone came up to John and told him that Ben was waiting for him. John went to see Ben and Ben told him Juliet was at John's former camp gathering information. Ben told John of The Others' plan for the island's pregnant women but he assured John nobody would get hurt.

Answer: Jack Shephard

Charlie first interacted with Jack in this episode of "Lost." In their conversation, Jack asked Charlie when he had just gotten back to their camp site and Charlie said he returned the previous night. Jack wondered what Charlie, Desmond, Jin, and Hurley were doing camping and Charlie just said they went exploring. Jack told Charlie that, the next time he went exploring, to let him know so he could tag along.

Hurley asked Sayid to talk to Naomi and find out why she was on the island. Sayid and Naomi got to talking and she mentioned, to Sayid, that she was a part of a search and rescue team. Sayid asked Naomi if she was there to rescue someone and Naomi said she was sent to rescue Desmond. Naomi mentioned she was hired by a woman named Penelope to look for Desmond.

Locke and Sawyer went off to a brig since they learned that Locke's father was there. When they got inside the brig, they heard a noise from another room. Right before they went into the room, Sawyer told Locke they would not kill anyone. Sawyer stepped, into the room, and Locke closed the door from the other side. Sure enough, the person that made the nose was Locke's father.

Answer: Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

In one scene, Sayid repaired a radio and Hurley was right there with him. Sayid commented to Hurley that he had never seen a piece of equipment so sophisticated. Hurley asked Sayid if he felt he could make it work and Sayid said he could try. Sayid turned on the radio and all he heard was static.

He told Hurley there was no audible channel and something was blocking them from sending a transmission from the radio.

Answer: Sun Kwon

All of these characters were in the episode "The Brig", except for Sun Kwon. Sun was an original character and has been on the show since day one, but she did not make an appearance in "The Brig." Yunjin Kim originated the role of Sun Kwon and had roles in the films, "Yesterday", "Iron Palm", and "Milae."

Answer: Nestor Carbonell

Carbonell, a native of New York City, originated the role of Richard Alpert and played the part in the episode, "The Brig." He was first seen in the "Lost" episode "Not in Portland", which aired during season three. On the show, Alpert was a member of The Others and, at one point, was their leader after they killed eighteen U.S. military soldiers.

In this episode, Richard informed John that John's father had to die and he also told John that Ben knew John would not be able to kill his own father. Carbonell also guest starred on the TV shows, "Cane", "Commander in Chief", and "Cold Case."
