3.3. "Further Instructions" Trivia Quiz

Answer: John Locke

The episode began with John lying on the ground and in bad shape since he was bleeding massively. When he stood up, a tree branch almost fell on him but John got out of the way to prevent being harmed. He picked up the branch and noticed there was some writing on it.

Charlie saw John return to the beach, and noticed that he was taking materials to build shelter a little bit further away. He spoke to John and noticed that John was temporarily mute. He tried to ask John who he needed to speak to and, after a short time of guessing, John pointed to the ground so Charlie assumed John wanted to speak to the island.

While the opening credits were rolling, John went to go see Charlie and he decided to write, to Charlie, what he needed rather than having Charlie guess what he wanted. Charlie saw that John wrote that John needed his help so Charlie wondered since when John needed his help. John, then, wrote that he needed Charlie to stand guard.

Answer: Eureka

During the opening credits, there was a flashback in which John was driving, during heavy rain, and he stopped to pick up a hitchhiker. He asked the hitchhiker where he was headed and the hitchhiker told him he wanted to go to Eureka, California. John told the hitchhiker he could only take him to Bridgeville and the guy accepted John's offer. The guy introduced himself as Eddie.

While John was driving Eddie to Eureka, he was pulled over by a California state trooper. The trooper went to John's window, and asked him for his license and registration. John asked him if he was being pulled over for speeding but the trooper said he pulled him over since his taillight was out.

The trooper asked both John and Eddie to step out of the car and they did. The trooper asked what John had, in the back of his truck, and John replied that he had guns and groceries.

Answer: Uncle

When the state trooper inspected what John had in the bed of his truck, he did indeed see guns and groceries. John had a permit to carry firearms, so he did not break any laws and the trooper was about to let him go. However, the trooper said he could still cite John for picking up a hitchhiker so Eddie chimed in and said John was his uncle. Eddie claimed that he called "Uncle John" to come pick him up.

The state trooper let both John and Eddie get back in the truck.

Answer: True

While John was making drugs to help soothe his pain, he saw a vision of Boone Carlyle appear to him. Boone said hello and that he was pleased to see John again. John apologized to Boone for getting him killed, and Boone's vision accepted the apology. Ian Somerhalder originated and portrayed Boone Carlyle during the show's first and second seasons.

He appeared in 28 episodes and was killed off in the episode titled, "Abandoned", which was the sixth episode of season two.

Answer: Mr. Eko

After John was done having a vision of Boone, he raced out of his tent and encountered Charlie. This was when John broke his silence and he told Charlie he was going to save Mr. Eko's life. Charlie accompanied John on his mission to save Mr. Eko. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje originated the role of Mr. Eko and, through the first five seasons appeared in a total of 28 episodes.

Answer: Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

As John and Charlie were traveling, across the island to find Mr. Eko, they got scared when they heard rumbling noises amongst the trees. John threw a knife and both he and Charlie heard someone yell. The knife plunged into a shield that Hurley had used. Hurley was shocked that John had almost killed him.

While Hurley was walking amongst the trees, he came upon Desmond. Desmond did not have a shirt on, and he said there were no shirts available for him. Hurley asked Desmond how he felt about tie dye since he had a tie dyed shirt. Desmond said he did not mind tie dyed shirts and took the one Hurley offered him.
