The episode began at Highland High School where Mr. Van Driessen instructed the class about economics. It was easy to tell what the subject was he discussed since he mentioned the term "supply and demand". Mr. Van Driessen made a generalized observation about how supply and demand fuel the capitalist society that augments American society.
