Answer: CSI: Miami
Alexx Woods, played by Khandi Alexander, was the medical officer for six seasons on "CSI: Miami". After her character left the show following a number of traumatic experiences and her son getting into trouble, she did reappear as a guest star twice as an ER doctor and once in the first episode of season 8 which was a flashback to the founding of the crime lab with Horatio Caine and her part in that institution.
2. Betty Rogers

Betty Rogers was played by veteran actress, Lauren Holly, for the four seasons of "Motive" (2013-2016). A Canadian series, aired on CTV, it is set in Vancouver around the homicide squad, with whom she works closely, and the twist is that in the opening scene the viewer is usually given the identity of both killer and victim.
The rest of the show is devoted to finding out WHY the murder was committed.
3. Donald "Ducky" Mallard

Donald "Ducky" Mallard, played by David McCallum was part of "NCIS" since the show made its debut in 2003. Originally from Scotland, he saw medical service in Vietnam, Bosnia, and Afghanistan and later became the medical examiner for NCIS. During the run of the show he received training in psychology and was often called upon to offer a psychological profile of the victim or a possible offender.
When his best friend, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, was asked what Ducky was like when he was younger, his reply "Illya Kuryakin" was a neat joke since that was the character played by McCallum in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.".
4. Garrett Macy

"Crossing Jordan" ran for six seasons on NBC (2001-2007). The show revolved a pair of lead roles, Dr Jordan Cavanaugh (played by Jill Hennessy) and her boss, Dr Garrett Macy (Miguel Ferrer), the Chief Medical Examiner in Boston. Each has skeletons in their background and much of the show depended on how these two developed a congenial working arrangement.
5. Sid Hammerbeck

The veteran Canadian actor Robert Joy played Sid Hammerbeck for eight of the nine-year run of "CSI: New York" (2005-2013). His was one of the most appealing and sympathetic characters on the show, as shown by his empathy for his colleagues and for the victims who arrived in his mortuary. During the show the character suffered a near-fatal allergic reaction, been on the receiving end of an exploding bullet during an autopsy, and inventing the perfect pillow whose rights he sold for $27 million dollars.
His trademark were the breakaway glasses that came apart in the middle.
6. Max Bergman
Answer: Hawaii Five-O
Masa Oka played Dr Max Bergman for six years on the re-make of "Hawaii Five-0" (2011-2017). He served as the Chief Medical Office for Honolulu and worked closely with Steve McGarrett and the rest of the Five-O team. He had an eventful upbringing -- his mother was killed by a serial murderer, he was briefly in foster care, and then adopted by a Jewish family, He was somewhat awkward in his interaction with others and deeply addicted to trivia, but had a heart of gold and genuine concern for others.
In the seventh season he left the show to join Doctors without Borders in Africa.
7. Loretta Wade

CCH Pounder has played Dr Loretta Wade, the Coroner for Jefferson Parish, on "NCIS: New Orleans" since the series made its debut in September 2014. After graduating from medical school, she came down to New Orleans on a visit and has never left. She has a special relationship (but not romantic) with Dwayne Pride, the star of the show, played by Scott Bakula.
8. Julia Ogden
Answer: Murdoch Mysteries
"Murdoch Mysteries" is set in late Victorian and Edwardian Toronto. Dr Julia Ogden was one of the first in Canada to qualify as a doctor and served off-and-on as the city's medical examiner and coroner. Much of the show's interest concerns her relationship with the lead character in the show, Detective William Murdoch, whom she marries in season 8.
9. Sidney Perlmutter

Sidney Perlmutter, played by Arye Gross, is one of two regularly appearing medical examiners on the TV show "Castle", which aired on ABC from 2009-2016. The other and more regular examiner is Lanie Parish, played by Tamala Jones. Perlmutter has a sharp tongue and biting wit and does not bother to hide his disdain for Richard Castle.
10. Al Robbins
Answer: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Al Robbins, played by Robert David Hall, was part of the cast of the CSI show set in Las Vegas from its very start in October 2000, as a recurring character in seasons 1 and 2 and then in the main cast thereafter. In fact, he appears in more episodes than any other character on the show.
He was in duty on the graveyard shift, that on which Gil Grissom's team operates as well. The actor lost his legs in a car accident when he was young, and his character gets around the lab with the use of prosthetics.
