Bender hopes to become the world's most notorious burglar. Unfortunately, his daring raid at the municipal pool only got him three gallons of water, a pair of speedos, an assortment of poolside equipment, and misidentification by an eyewitness.

Scruffy the Janitor makes this comment. Scruffy appears every now and again, and never has any recollection of any of the other people working at Planet Express. They also seem to have no recollection of ever seeing him before.

Bender wants to be remembered for how great he is, but can't quite get the hang of it. His attempt to paint his image on a building ends most miserably - he sprays the caption "Bender lives large and kicks butt!" underneath the picture, but the building is then demolished and the rearranged rubble reads "Bender licks butt!".

The Planet Express crew throw Bender a mock-funeral to show him how much his friends would miss him after he dies. Of course, he doesn't care squat about them or their affection towards him, and would much rather hear them talk about what a glorious magnificent bastard he was. Fortunately, this attempt has convinced Bender that life is worth living - by showing him how bad his funeral would suck!

The stone block is one of ten million others used to build the tomb of the Pharaoh Harmenthotep. In addition, the Planet Express crew themselves become part of the delivery once the locals decide to take them as slaves to help build the monument.

Apparently, while the Osirians did in fact visit Ancient Egypt, it was the Egyptians who taught the Osirians everything they know! They even taught them how to prepare the dead specifically to scare Abbot & Costello.

Bender is awed by these Pharaohs since they've managed to secure a lasting memory for themselves - primarily as tyrants who sacrificed thousands of people to build their tombs. But a memory is a memory! Except for poor what's-his-name. He was the greatest of all.

They also throw in the Pharaoh's embalmed organs in labeled glass jars, a bag of holy cats, and all the junk from his garage.

Answer: A rubber ball

The guards are canine humanoids who look like the Egyptian god Anubis (the Jackal god of the afterlife). They are apparently as dog-like as they appear, and go chasing happily after the bouncing ball. The dog-faced guards are probably also a reference to the science-fiction movie "Stargate".

Bender has created a monument of gigantic proportions to keep his memory alive. Ok, thousands of slaves created a monument of gigantic proportions, but that's beside the point.

He wonders if, given the statue's colossal proportions, people will remember the statue instead of Bender himself. The Osirians protest, saying that they built the statue to his exact specifications, but he insists that they start all over again and this time "not embarrass themselves". The Osirians proceed to declare Bender "suddenly dead" and unceremoniously bury him under his statue.

Bender's love of alcohol and gambling knows no limits. His tomb is designed as a large casino hall. Curiously, it appears to be built to entertain a large number of guests - perhaps he was hoping to be buried with all his slaves. He ends up being buried with just Fry and Leela.

From the way Bender mentions it, it appears that the tomb was specifically designed that way. This is an obvious reference to the chamber of the Ark of the Covenant in the first Indiana Jones movie, which has been sealed for centuries and yet contains an unusually large mass of slithering snakes pouring in from every crevice for no explained reason.

Leela and Fry, in a last attempt to convince Bender that he should help them destroy (and hence escape) his tomb, pretend as though they've forgotten him already despite his gigantic monument. And it works! He really is that attention-seeking!

Bender equipped his tomb-slash-underground-casino with a distillery for pomegranate schnapps. Fortunately, the schnapps is so high in alcohol content that it is in fact extremely explosive. Leela blows up the distillery, destroying the statue in what appears to be a nuclear-sized blast.
