You can't stop Bender from stealing, not even when he's just been shot out a torpedo tube and blasted right through the hull of an enemy ship. Unfortunately for Bender, this swag is going to be of little use to him as he hurtles through the vast emptiness of space for all eternity. But it may cheer him up a little.

The solar system and naked humans are of course the trademark symbols from a plaque on the Pioneer 10 and 11 deep space probes, in case they were ever found by an alien species. However Bender's etching on himself depicts the solar system, two naked humans, and a gigantic Bender menacing them.

He wants whoever finds him drifting in space a million years from now to "know what the score was!".

Answer: Shrimpkins

The Shrimpkins come on board after a small meteor crashes into Bender's lower torso. They call Bender their Great Metal Lord - playing right into Bender's egomania. Things go downhill from there, as expected.

"GOD NEEDS BOOZE". The Shrimpkins get to work on this straight away, constructing a massive silo to ferment Lordweiser beer for their Metal Lord. Many of them are maimed in the process. Many others die from the fumes the brewery spews forth.

Answer: Dr. Zoidberg

Dr. Zoidberg's foul smell is the stuff of legends, and is a running gag that appears in many forms and in many episodes. Poor Dr. Zoidberg - hideous, unpleasant, and on top of that one of the smelliest objects in the universe. Oh well, at least he's a rich doctor. No, wait...

Answer: Helper

Helper looks kind-of-like Bender, except he's cubic instead of cylindrical. He's also chummy and helpful, and thus one of the poorest replacements for Bender you could possibly imagine.

Answer: Coolio

After he saves Malachi Junior from drowning, many of the Shrimpkins begin asking Bender for miracles of their own. The people of one village ask for wealth, so Bender tosses them quarter. It flattens the village (no surprises there). No explanation is given as to why Coolio appears on Earth currency.

Answer: Bender is holding Fry over an edge

Fry bitter-sweetly reminisces: "He decided not to let go". Fry's relationship with Bender is extremely dangerous, abusive, and fickle - but that doesn't seem to bother Fry at all. He still thinks of Bender as his best friend. Also, for some reason he has a large signed portrait of Bender dressed as Napoleon.

Answer: False hope

This episode is mainly about religion, and it isn't very "friendly" to the major religions nor to the kooky ones. Fry goes to the First Amalgamated Church (a strange combination of several of Earth's major religions) and asks Father Changstein Al-Gamal for spiritual help with finding Bender, and is told that aside from prayer they can't really offer him any tangible assistance. And now the Gypsy robot is trying to sell him false hope.

Fry is told that a monastery in the Himalayas has a powerful telescope used to try to find God out in space. Fry is determined to go look for the monastery, hoping to use the telescope to look for Bender.
The shopkeeper at the Hiking Supplies shop uses one of those long rods with the hooks at the end to pull down a loaded pack-mule from near the ceiling. When they ask for a Sherpa, he does the same (but apparently hits the poor Sherpa in a sensitive spot).

Answer: A porno theatre

The Shrimpkins on Bender's backside do not believe in Bender because he doesn't answer their prayers (which he can't hear from all the way over there), and eventually start a war against the believing Shrimpkins on the front side. After a devastating nuclear war, no one is left alive. "Who would have known playing God could have such terrible consequences?!", he laments.

Answer: A moving walkway

Leela decides to test the bridge by sending the mule first. Once it starts moving on its own, a Public Announcement voice comes on, asking passengers to stick to the side to let "faster pilgrims" go through.

The entity considers all these possibilities, but doesn't confirm nor deny any of them. It does state that it has "always been", is "user-friendly", and "feels compassion for all living things". Hmmm, that does sound suspiciously familiar.

This quote is spoken by God (or whatever super-entity it was the Bender met out there in space) twice during this episode. It's basically the recipe for being a successful deity. Being a God requires a light touch, like a safe-cracker or a pickpocket. Or like burning down your bar to get the insurance money, if you make it look like an electrical thing.
