Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. He's played by Stephen Amell.

Answer: Arrow

Stephen is one of the actors to play this character based on the DC Comic. Justin Hartley played the character on "Smallville". Justin has also starred on "The Young and the Restless" and "This Is Us".

This series started off with Oliver Queen returning to Starling City after five years of being presumed dead.
2. Which crime fighter wore a suit to hide his identity?

Answer: Arrow

The Arrow wore a hood and black under-eye grease in the first season. The hood belonged to a friend he acquired during his tenure on the island of Lian Yu. As time wore on, Oliver Queen had several iterations of this disguise (including a black eye mask), which fooled more people than it really should have. These people included Laurel Lance, Quentin Lance, and his own sister Thea Queen. All of them eventually learned the Arrow's true identity.

Stephen Amell's cousin Robbie Amell guest starred as half of Firestorm on "The Flash".
3. His original name was Liam.

Answer: Angel

First he was a human man named Liam, living in Galway, Ireland. He was changed into the vampire called Angelus by his sire Darla in 1753. By the time Buffy Summers met him, Angel's alter-ego of Angelus was a notoriously brutal killer. Most of Angelus' exploits were seen on the spin-off series "Angel" in flashbacks and recollections.

David Boreanaz played Angel/Angelus/Liam on both "Buffy" and "Angel". He went on to star in twelves seasons of the Fox Network series "Bones".
4. This hero was sealed in an iron casket and sunk to the ocean floor by his son.

Answer: Angel

In the season three finale, Angel's 17 year old son Connor sunk his father to the bottom of the ocean. He had help from an old enemy named Justine, and Angel spent three months trapped and starving before Wesley recovered him. Connor had been raised in a hellish world known as Quor'toth after being taken by a man named Holtz. Connor returned a few weeks later and 17 years older. Needless to say I suppose, but Connor was a bit vengeful and bitter. Vincent Kartheiser played adult Connor.

In 2014, Vincent married "Gilmore Girl" Alexis Bledel.
5. He worked with such accomplices as Wesley, Cordelia, Gunn, and Fred.

Answer: Angel

Wesley was a former Watcher to Buffy and Faith before being fired from the Watchers' Council. He arrived in Los Angeles just after the death of Doyle, who was Angel's first connection to the mysterious Powers That Be. Wes joined Angel and Cordelia in their fight against evil, and at the end of season one they met Charles Gunn. Fred joined the team at the end of season two, after the team recovered her from Pylea, a very Earth like alternate world that you needed a portal to find. Pylea was the home dimension of Lorne, the empath demon who also joined the gang.
6. Started off fighting crime alone before slowly accepting a team of people who could help him, and he had a son.

Answer: Angel and Arrow

When Angel got to Los Angeles after leaving Sunnydale, he kept to himself. He did help people, but wanted no connection to those people. So, Doyle arrived and told Angel he needed to accept help, or else the humans he rescued would start to look like food to him. Angel allowed Doyle to help, and then Cordy sort of gave him no choice in taking her on as an employee. That was the beginning of Angel Investigations. Angel had an unexpected son with Darla, named Connor, who was the result of a higher power's manipulation.

Oliver Queen returned to Starling (later Star City) and became a solo crime fighter first known as the Hood. His bodyguard John Diggle did his best to keep up with the sneaky Oliver Queen, and before long Oliver was forced to admit he needed help. Not long after he and John joined forces, super genius hacker Felicity Smoak became the third member of their crime fighting group known as Team Arrow. Oliver discovered he had a son named William who lived in Central City. Audiences knew about the child before Oliver did, as Oliver's mother paid the baby's mother to leave town and never tell Oliver the truth. We found out that William's mother never cashed the check.
7. He faced challenges like the Undertaking, Slade Wilson, Ra's Al Ghul, and Damien Darhk.

Answer: Arrow

The Undertaking was a planned earthquake caused by a machine and orchestrated by Malcolm Merlyn and an organization known as Tempest. Slade Wilson was a madman, who'd once been Oliver's friend on Lian Yu. He killed Oliver's morally ambiguous mother in front of him, and Oliver ended up finally imprisoning him. Ra's Al Ghul was the ancient leader of the League of Assassins, who almost killed Oliver on the island of Nanda Parbat. Later, Merlyn took over the role of Ra's. Damien Darhk was a former League of Assassins member who came to Star City to create a refuge underground before he unleashed nuclear war onto the planet.

He had access to powerful magic, which made it hard for Oliver to fight. Damien was responsible for Felicity being paralyzed and Laurel Lance being killed. I'll admit, I rejoiced at the death of Laurel Lance, who was the most annoying character to ever appear on the show (as of season four). I never enjoyed her character and wished her away all four seasons she was on it.
8. He was constantly at war with an evil multi-dimensional lawfirm called Wolfram and Hart.

Answer: Angel

Wolfram and Hart was run by a group of demons known as the Senior Partners. Angel dealt with the likes of Lindsey McDonald, Lilah Morgan, Linwood Murrow, and Gavin Park over the seasons. All four of these lawyers had memorable deaths. And in season five, Angel became the head of the Los Angeles office, and took it down in the series finale.

Lindsey died at the will of Angel, who used Lorne to kill him after their final mission. Lilah was killed by the "beast master", also known as evil Cordy/Jasmine, who stuck a weapon into her neck. Linwood Murrow was beheaded in a delightfully shocking moment by Lilah, who was taking over his job. And, Gavin Park was killed by the beast, turned into a zombie, and finished off by Gunn in the episode "Habeas Corpses".
9. He worked reluctantly for A.R.G.U.S./Suicide Squad leader Amanda Waller.

Answer: Arrow

She was played by actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson in this version of the character, and by Viola Davis in the 2016 film "Suicide Squad". Oliver was forced to become an assassin for Amanda in China, in between his times spent on Lian Yu, and before he came back to Starling for good. A.R.G.U.S. stands for Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans. Amanda formed the band of misfits used for her Suicide Squad on "Arrow" as well as in comics, feature films, and other TV adaptions. John Diggle's wife Layla became the head of A.R.G.U.S. after Amanda was killed on "Arrow". John originally believed that Suicide Squad member Floyd Lawton/Deadshot had killed his brother, but it was not true.

Pam Grier and Angela Bassett have also played Amanda Waller.
10. He had the power to see ghosts, was in love with a girl named Stormy, and had a best friend named Little Ozzie.

Answer: Neither

This actually describes the character of Odd Thomas, created by author Dean Koontz. Odd appeared in seven stories, six of which were novels, and a film was made starring the late great Anton Yelchin. Odd loved Stormy and was forever tied to her, and his best friend Little Ozzie was a successful mystery writer. Patton Oswald played him in the film.

Anton Yelchin was killed in 2016 when the vehicle he was driving came out of "park" and rolled into him. He was at home when it happened. Anton was also in the remake of "Fright Night", "Star Trek Beyond", and the animated series "Trollhunters".
