Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Our first trunk is sat next to a yellow and black Mini 1000 car and inside there is a tweed jacket and red tie. Laid on top of these is a brown teddy bear, a digital calculator watch and a key to a flat in Highbury, North London. Which TV character owns all of these objects?

Answer: Mr Bean

'Mr Bean' is played brilliantly by English comedian Rowan Atkinson. Originally he featured in 14 half hour episodes on TV, but then came two feature films and an animated TV series. The character says very little and the laughs come largely from physical comedy. There are few recurring characters in 'Mr Bean', but he does have a girlfriend named Irma Gobb, played by Matilda Ziegler.
2. Trunk two seems to be making a lot of noise and as I look inside, I see why. There is a chick and a duck lying in one corner of it right on top of a pile of sweater vests. There isn't room for much more, but I do spot a huge cup with the name 'Central Perk' on it and a equally large joke book. Which character from TV land can this belong to?

Answer: Chandler Bing

These items can only belong to Matthew Perry's funny, yet sexy, character, Chandler Bing from 'Friends'. He is known for his vast selection of sweater vests, which Joey at one time uses to dress a pack of dogs en route to Las Vegas and his unusual pets. He and Joey have a chick, who gets stuck in their VCR, and a duck who swallows Emily's wedding ring.
3. The third trunk is full to the brim with tracksuits and cheerleading trophies, and do I spy an Emmy (for my portrayer) there as well? Together with an application to run for Congress and a photo of big sister Jean, which TV character owns this list of items?

Answer: Sue Sylvester

Actress Jane Lynch plays Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester in 'Glee', Fox's musical comedy drama. Her overbearing personality makes her a great nemesis for the school's glee club run by Spanish teacher, Will Schuester. She does, however, have a softer side when it comes to her elder sister, Jean, who has Down Syndrome and is adored by Sue.

Her performance in series one of the show earned Jane an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Just another award to add to the extensive silverware won by the Cheerios.
4. Further along the stage is trunk four. This has in it a pair of old wellies, a woollie hat, a match box and a couple of ferrets. Also, in there, is a map of Yorkshire and a picture of the love of his life. Which country TV character owns this trunk?

Answer: Compo Simmonite

These props could only belong to Compo from 'Last of the Summer Wine'. He is rarely seen without his hat and wellies, and often carries his beloved ferrets with him as well. His matchbox's contents can always make the ladies scream and we never find out what is in there.

The love of his life is, of course, his neighbour Nora Batty. The series ran from 1973 to 2010 and Bill Owen played the character of Compo so expertly from the beginning of the series until his death in 1999.
5. Trunk number five contains such props as a sonic screwdriver, an old police telephone box and not a map of the world, but a map of time and space. Which TV character could own these bits and pieces?

Answer: The Doctor (Doctor Who)

Since 1963, the beloved Doctor has been travelling through time and space in the TARDIS keeping Earth safe from all manner of alien life forms. The first Doctor was played by William Hartnell, followed by Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi.

The Doctor's companions have included Sarah Jane Smith, Amy Pond, Rose Tyler, K9 and many more. His adversaries have been many and varied, but the most memorable are the Daleks.
6. The next trunk along, number six, contains tokens for the Barry Island amusement arcade, a plentiful supply of cigarettes, a baby's feeding bottle and an Aston Villa football strip. Just who does this trunk belong to?

Answer: Nessa Jenkins

Vanessa Shanessa Jenkins, or Nessa, is played by Ruth Jones on the TV show 'Gavin and Stacey'. Nessa works in the Barry Island amusement park, but rumor has it that she has done many other jobs, including driving for Eddie Stobart and singing with the girl group, 'All Saints'.

By the end of the series she had given birth to baby Neil with Smithy, her best friend's husband's best friend.
7. The seventh trunk is the neatest and cleanest of them all. It has inside a Royal Doulton tea set (with hand-painted periwinkles). Also visible is her husband's cheque book and various librettos for popular stage musicals. Which upmarket lady owns all of these?

Answer: Hyacinth Bucket

Patricia Routledge's social climber Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Bouquet)is a comedy masterpiece in the TV series 'Keeping Up Appearances'. She displays her Royal Doulton tea set during her famous candlelit suppers. She and long suffering husband, Richard, have one son, Sheridan, who only seems to contact his parents when in need of money, which Richard is loathed to dish up.

She has a love of stage musicals and is known to burst into song at any given moment.
8. The eighth trunk can't make up its mind which era it is meant to be in, 21st century or early 1980s. Inside is a police badge for the Greater Manchester constabulary and keys to an Audi Quattro. Also on hand is a plentiful supply of cigarettes and alcohol and certainly no manual on how to be politically correct. Which detective does this trunk belong to?

Answer: Gene Hunt

This can only be Philip Glenister's brilliant characterisation in both 'Life on Mars' and its follow up 'Ashes to Ashes'. Hunt is a larger than life character and very politically incorrect, but a good 'old school' copper. He is accompanied in both series by officers Chris Skelton and Ray Carling who all turn out, in the last episode, to be dead and existing in a limbo for police officers between their death and resting in peace.

In the US, Glenister's role was taken on by Harvey Keitel.
9. Trunk number nine contains two uniforms. One is that of a midwife and the other is that of a cub leader. Also included is a trusty Singer sewing machine and a stack of baby clothes for a little boy. I have also spotted an invitation for a debutante ball. Who could own all of these things?

Answer: Camilla 'Chummy' Noakes

Multi-talented Miranda Hart plays popular midwife Chummy in the BBC one series, 'Call the Midwife'. Chummy, or Camilla, comes from a privileged upbringing; her father had been knighted by the Queen, but she thrives in her posting to London's east end.

She meets and marries policeman Peter Noakes and they have baby Freddie in series 2. Lady Mary Crawley is a character from 'Downton Abbey'. Mary Ellen Walton is the eldest daughter in 'The Waltons' and Meryl Taylor is from the TV series 'The Royal', set in a hospital in the 1960s.
10. The last trunk, number ten, is slightly battered and war torn. Inside is a brown leather flying jacket, a pilot's licence and an admissions letter from the V A mental institution. There are also dog tags from the Vietnam War and an abundance of disguises. Just which character owns all of these things?

Answer: H M 'Howling Mad' Murdock

Although some of these items could belong to any one of 'The A Team', there is only one pilot and that is Murdock, played by actor and dialect expert Dwight Schultz. His love of all things zany means he clashes many times with straight down the line BA, but he can pilot anything from a jet to a hang glider.

His real life wife, actress Wendy Fulton, plays his love interest Kelly Stevens in one of the episodes.
