Lafiel is promoted to Territorial Ambassador of the Lobnas system. Now that the Abh have taken it from United Mankind, they have to deal with the problem developing on the prison planet Lobnas II. Lafiel remains in orbit while Jinto goes down to the planet.

There is the actual director of the place, whom Lafiel recognizes as the leader, plus three prisoners. There are three sections on the island: one for men, one for women, and one of mixed sexes, who are sterilized. One person from each section claims to be the rightful leader.

Answer: The women

Abh don't like interfering with the affairs of the planets they conquer, so they don't change anything about how the prison is run. However, they do offer assistance to the women who want to leave the planet and be put in prison camps elsewhere. Many of them were triggered to crime after sexual assault, so they are not pleased by the men's plans to procreate and raise children.

Answer: Artificial birth technology

The men want the fertile women to remain to be mothers to their children. Jinto then offers Abh birth technology, which allows artificial fertilization and and incubation. The prison director says that prisoners don't have the right to procreate. One does have to wonder what kind of parents murderers and unwilling mothers would make, and how they would treat children.

Answer: Cry

As Abriels are royalty, they aren't supposed to show favoritism. If they cried for one person's plight, they would have to do it for everyone, which is impractical. Lafiel's father taught her to keep her tears inside. Lafiel cries at least twice over these anime series: in "Crest of the Stars" when she finds out her mother died in the attack on the Gosroth, and at the end of this series when she finds Jinto, starved and almost dead.

Abh love insulting each other--it's practically an art form. As revealed in "Banner of the Stars", Abh can't get drunk from drinking alcohol.

Answer: She keeps negotiating for more time.

Lafiel needs more time to evacuate the planet, so she asks Spoor to hold off United Mankind. She doesn't want to waste the lives of her fleet protecting prisoners, so tries to stall for time by asking for more time for her forces to retreat, constantly revising how much time she needs.

The negotiations take over an hour, which combined with the two hours given her, still aren't quite enough time for Lafiel. Spoor's forces are nearly wiped out.

Answer: Not eating a meal prepared for you

Food is taken very seriously. Samson cooks food for Jinto, joking that he doesn't think Jinto would be so rude as to not show up for a meal cooked by a friend. It's his way to make Lafiel feel positive about their chances of finding Jinto alive.

Lafiel decides to take a break from the Star Forces to return to Jinto's home planet to recapture the Hyde system, which revolted against the Abh Empire at the end of "Crest of the Stars". The story's told in the original novels, as well as the OVA episodes "Banner of the Stars III".

Answer: Dubus and Plakia

We meet her mother early in "Crest of the Stars" as Captain Lexshue. She dies in episode five of that series. Here, the two investigate an abandoned spaceship that was crewed by Abh. Afterwards, Dubus tells Plakia that he wants her genes, which is the greatest expression of love among the Abh.

We get to see the adorably cute baby Lafiel. Her father names her: "laf" for gem, as she's a princess, and "fiel", source of life, referring to a supernova that eventually aggregates into a new star. The episode ends with Lafiel walking to meet Jinto as seen in "Crest of the Stars".
