The father of actors Holly Robinson Peete and Matt Robinson III, Matt Robinson played Gordon from "Sesame Street's" debut in 1969 until 1973. He also wrote for the classic TV series "The Waltons" and "Sanford and Son" before joining the staff of "The Cosby Show". Robinson died of complications from Parkinson's Disease on August 5, 2002.
