Frakes appeared in the 2010 episode "The Uncanny Valley" as Dr Arthur Malcolm, whose daughter Samantha is the "unknown subject" (or "unsub") of the episode. The cause of her neurosis was revealed to be sexual abuse by her father and his taking her favourite dolls away from her.

In response she abducted attractive young women, administered a paralyzing agent, and kept them as her "dolls".

Marina Sirtis has had many guest spots since the end of "ST:TNG", including a minor recurring role on "Star Trek Voyager" and that of a Russian scientist on a "waterworld" episode of "Stargate SG1". As Orli Elbaz on "NCIS" she has succeeded Ziva David's father as Director of Mossad and first appeared in the 2012 epsiode "Berlin".

After a traumatic shooting and near-death experience, Detective Kate Beckett has turned for counselling to the sympathetic and soft-voiced psychiatrist Dr Carver Burke, a very different persona for Michael Dorn to that of the Klingon warrior, Worf ("Today IS a good day to die!")..

Only Michael Dorn appeared in more episodes of "Star Trek" than Colm Meaney, who has played a wide variety of roles in all sorts of TV series, including two different series of "Law & Order". Chief Cowen, leader of the Genii, started out as an ally of Atlantis, attempted to double-cross them, and was eventually eliminated by a nuclear bomb detonated by a rival Genii.

Denise Crosby, a grand-daughter of Bing Crosby, was the Chief of Security in the first season of "ST:TNG", and left the show (episode: "Skin of Evil") to pursue a role in the new series "Key West", which lasted for only 13 episodes and on which she played the mayor of Key West.

She later re-appeared on "ST:TNG" in the third-season episode "Yesterday's Enterprise", regarded by many as the best single episode of the series, and as her daughter Sela, a Romulan commander.

Brent Spiner has had quite a career since "ST: TNG", including three appearances on "Star Trek: Enterprise" as Dr Arik Soong and an especially memorable role in the blockbuster film "Independence Day" as Dr Brackish Odun, the eccentric scientist at Area 51 investigating the alien crash at Roswell.

Gates McFadden played the chief medical officer aboard the Enterprise for six of the seven seasons of "ST:TNG", as well as in four of the movies. She has not had as extensive career as have some of the other alumni of the series.

"Perception" resembles two other popular series, "The Mentalist" and "Castle", where an expert outsider joins forces with the police, led by an attractive lady agent. In this instance the expert is Dr Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), a schizophrenic neuropsychiatrist who assists the FBI office in Chicago.

A recurring role is that of Dr Paul Healy, played by Levar Burton, who plays the Dean of Pierce's University and acts as a friend and consultant.

The episode in question was from Season 4, "Paradise" (2008), in which Wil Wheaton played the very creepy owner of a remote motel, who imprisoned and then murdered young married couples. He left their bodies in their car on a busy road so that their deaths would be seen as the result of an accident. Ironically at the end of the episode he ran away from the FBI... right into the path of a loaded truck.

Answer: Patrick Stewart

The episode in question ("Homer the Great") came from season 6 of "The Simpsons" and is ranked by many among the best episodes of the series. Patrick Stewart played 'Number One', the leader of the Springfield chapter of the Stonecutters, a lodge group based on the Free Masons.

It was quite amusing to hear the august voice of Captain Picard declare, "Now let's all get drunk and play ping pong".
