Merle Dixon is played by Michael Rooker, who also plays Yondu in "Guardians of the Galaxy," while Daryl Dixon is played by Norman Reedus, known for his role in "The Boondock Saints." The brothers were both abused by their father, but Merle, who was several years older than Daryl, left home. Years later, he returned, and the two brothers drifted together. When the apocalypse starts, they both settle at the Atlanta Survivor Camp.

Carol tells Daryl of Merle, "He's your brother, but he's not good for you." Daryl eventually has to move out of the shadow of his brother and make his own decisions. Merle is a complicated character who is sometimes the villain, but in the end, he tries to help Rick's group by fighting the Governor, and he's killed in the process. Daryl is forced to slay the walker form of his own brother.

While Merle is Daryl's biological brother, Rick is his metaphorical brother. In season 4, episode 16, in an emotionally charged moment, when Daryl is feeling guilty for having fallen in with the Claimers, Rick tells Daryl, "You're my brother."

Answer: Maggie

The Greene sisters, played by Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Emily Kinney (Beth), grew up on their father Hershel's farm and are living there at the start of the apocalypse. They survive together until the prison camp collapses, when they're separated. Beth is later killed by the leader of Grady Memorial Hospital.

Answer: Sasha

The character of Sasha (played by Sonequa Martin-Green) was created specifically for the television series and does not appear in "The Walking Dead" comic books. Sasha is Tyreese's younger sister, but also the boss of the pair. The siblings stayed in a neighbor's bunker for the first seven months of the apocalypse.

Answer: Judith

Judith and Carl are both Lori's children, but they have different fathers, because Lori had an affair with Shane. Carl is the one who gives Judith her name, after a favorite elementary school teacher. Carl dies when Judith is still a young child, but she inherits the hat he claimed from their father.

Answer: RJ

Rick Grimes is the father of both Carl (played by Chandler Riggs) and RJ, which stands for Rick, Junior. However, the boys have different mothers - Lori (Carl's mom) and Michonne (RJ's mom). This makes RJ the adoptive brother of Judith, although there is no biological relationship between them.

Answer: Amy

While on a road trip, the sisters become stranded in Atlanta, and Dale rescues them in his RV. They become members of the Atlanta Survivor Camp, but Amy is killed by walkers. Andrea is played by actress Laurie Holden.

In Alexandria, Rick had a brief romantic liaison with Jesse Anderson, the abused wife of Pete Anderson, who is father to both Ron and Sam. Sam catches Carol in the armory and is threatened into silence by her. After Sam is set upon by walkers, Ron attempts to kill Rick and is consequently killed by Michonne.

Answer: Andre Anthony

RJ never meets either of his half-brothers, Andre Anthony or Carl, both of whom died before he was born. Andre was Michonne's son with her boyfriend Mike, but toward the start of the apocalypse, he was devoured by walkers when his father got too high to protect him. Michonne later becomes pregnant with a second son by Rick, who vanishes before RJ is born.

Answer: Mika

Lizzie and Mika Samuels are refugees from Woodbury. When their father dies, Carol adopts them, but when she's banished, they're left to be cared for by other members of the prison. Tyreese escapes with them after the collapse of the prison and runs into Carol.

Unfortunately, Lizzie is mentally ill, suffers from anxiety attacks, and believes that walkers are just like people. She kills her younger sister in order to prove the fact to Carol.

Answer: Henry

Benjamin and Henry lost their mother when the apocalypse started. They settled in the Kingdom with their father, who died during a mission. Benjamin, with Ezekiel's help, raises his younger brother. One of the Saviors, Jared, shoots Benjamin when the Kingdom is one cantaloupe short of its promised tithe to Negan, and the young man dies. Henry is later adopted by Carol.
