Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. While Buffy and Willow are passing each other notes in class, what is the topic of the class discussion?

Answer: The French Revolution

Cordelia expresses her deep sympathy towards Marie Antoinette as the peasants didn't appreciate how hard she worked to look good. Cordelia: "And Marie Antoinette cared about them. She was gonna let them have cake!"
2. How long did Buffy and Billy "Ford" Fordham go to school together?

Answer: 7 years

Buffy mentions this when they see each other again at Sunnydale High. She had a giant crush on him in the fifth grade but with him being "a manly sixth-grader", he couldn't bother with someone that young. Buffy: "I moped over you for months. Sitting in my room listening to that Divinyls song 'I Touch Myself'. Of course, I had no idea what it was about."
3. Which item does Willow quickly remove from her bed when Angel comes to visit her room late at night?

Answer: A bra

Angel asks Willow to dig up information on Ford, whom Angel suspects of keeping secrets. Later, when Xander discovers that Angel was in Willow's bedroom, she tells him serenely, "Ours is a forbidden love."
4. What does Xander NOT refer to Angel as during this episode?

Answer: Dark prince

Xander and Angel usually have a hard time getting along and this episode is no different. He even tells Buffy and Willow early in the episode, "If Angel's doing somethin' wrong, I wanna know. 'Cause it gives me a happy!" Although the term "dark prince" isn't used by Xander in this epsiode, he later uses it to describe Count Dracula in the season 5 episode "Buffy Vs. Dracula".
5. Which exact term does Chanterelle use to describe vampires?

Answer: The Lonely Ones

It's Willow who says the "Vampires! Yay!" line, which seems to be the theme of the Sunset Club. Chanterelle refers to vampires as The Lonely Ones and explains: "They who walk with the night are not interested in harming anyone. They are creatures above us. Exalted!" Xander chips in with, "We usually call them the nasty, pointy, bitey ones."

The actress who plays Chanterelle, Julia Lee, also appears in a later epsiode of Buffy, playing the role of Lily in the season 3 episode "Anne". She then went on to play the role of Anne Steele in the spin-off series "Angel".
6. Where does Miss Calendar take Giles on their mystery date?

Answer: To see monster trucks

Giles is apparently more than happy to have the date interrupted by Buffy's call for help. Miss Calendar picks up on this and tells him that he could have said something and they could've just left. Giles: "Wha-what, and miss the nitro-burning funny cars? No, couldn't have that."
7. Which character do we NOT see actively lying to Buffy in this episode?

Answer: Xander

Ford lies to Buffy several times throughout the episode, and Angel lies about staying home and reading when he was actually meeting Drusilla. Even Giles lies to her at the end of the episode, even though she asks him to. Willow lies by omission by not telling Buffy that she is investigating Ford with Angel and by avoiding the truth when Buffy confronts her about her weird behavior. Technically, Xander also lies by omission, but it isn't shown in the episode.
8. What is the most important reason for Ford wanting to be a vampire?

Answer: He is dying from brain tumors

When Buffy confronts him about his evil plans, Ford reveals to her that he is dying from a nest of tumors in his brain. Ford: "I look good, don't I? Well, let me tell you something. I've got maybe six months left, and by then what they bury won't even LOOK like me.

It'll be bald and shriveled and it'll smell bad. No, I'm not going out that way." Buffy is chagrined but tries to reason with him anyway. However, Ford is dead set on becoming a vampire.
9. How does Buffy stop the vampires from killing everyone at the Sunset Club?

Answer: She threatens to kill Drusilla

Drusilla is weak and can't fight Buffy off on her own. Buffy targets her as she knows that Spike would do anything to save her. She tells Spike, "Now you let everyone out, or your girlfriend fits in an ashtray." The plan works and everyone gets out safe except for Ford.
10. What happens to Ford in the end?

Answer: He is turned into a vampire and is killed by Buffy

The vampires grant Ford his wish of being turned into a vampire, but they leave his body behind for Buffy to find. She buries him and waits for him to rise as a vampire after which she effortlessly kills him. She tells Giles, "It'd be simpler if I could just hate him. I think he wanted me to. I think it made it easier for him to be the villain of the piece. Really he was just scared."
