Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Led by Gregory, then Maggie, then Jesus, then Tara

Answer: The Hilltop Colony

The Hilltop Colony was established at the Barrington House on top of a hill in Virginia. The historic site also housed a barn and blacksmith's shop. At the start of the apocalypse, it was established as one of several safe-zones, and FEMA brought in trailers but later abandoned the camp. The Hilltop was quickly extorted by the Saviors.
2. A beach camp that is home primarily to widows and children

Answer: Oceanside

The people of Oceanside were originally part of another community that was extorted by the Saviors. When they fought back, Simon, without Negan's knowledge, had all of the male survivors over the age of ten killed. The women and children fled and reestablished their community near a beach, where they tried to remain hidden from the Saviors.
3. A planned, sustainable community with homes starting in the low $800,000's

Answer: Alexandria Safe-Zone

The Alexandria Safe-Zone began as a sustainable, "green" neighborhood built in Virginia near Washington, D.C. The community was built with its own cisterns, solar grid, and green sewage filtration system. The military established it as a safe-zone in the early days of the apocalypse, and a Congresswoman from Ohio, Deanna Moore, became its leader.
4. Located on the grounds of a school and once home to a tiger

Answer: The Kingdom

King Ezekiel kept the extortion of the Saviors secret from his people, offering them an illusion of peace in a world filled with knights, horses, and melee weapons. Eventually, the buildings and plumbing became rundown, rot set in, the Kingdom became uninhabitable, and its people migrated to the Hilltop and Alexandria.
5. Located in an old factory and at one time home to Dwight

Answer: The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary was the headquarters of the Saviors and the home of Negan and Dwight. Impaled walkers helped to form a perimeter. Daryl ran the Sanctuary after the war with the Saviors concluded, and later Carol took over from him. Eventually, however, they had to give up on the camp.
6. A "potential gold mine" until it was attacked and destroyed by the Governor

Answer: West Georgia Correctional Facility

When the survivors discovered the prison, Rick said, "This place could be a gold mine!" Rick's group cleared and settled the prison and even began farming and taking in refugees from Woodbury, but eventually the Governor destroyed the place, and its inhabitants scattered.
7. Established by Philip Blake and at one time home to Merle Dixon

Answer: Woodbury

The town was abandoned by its original inhabitants and discovered by Philip Blake, who becomes "the Governor." The community grew to house over seventy people. Merle Dixon settled there for a time and became the Governor's right-hand man. Sasha, Andrea, and Tyreese all lived there at some point as well.
8. The first camp shared by Shane, Lori, and Carl

Answer: Atlanta Survivor Camp

When Shane and Lori see that Atlanta is overrun and witness its destruction, they abort their plan to travel into the city and set up camp in a state park, near a quarry, instead. Carol, Ed, and Sophia, whom they meet along the highway, join them, as do other survivors over time, including Daryl, Merle, Glenn, Andrea, Amy, the Morales family, T-Dog, Jacqui, Dale, Jim, and Rick. Eventually the camp is attacked by walkers, and the survivors decide to pull up stakes and move on. Rick leads them to the CDC, except for the Morales family, who opt to part ways.
9. Located in a train station and home to cannibals

Answer: Terminus

Terminus began as a legitimate sanctuary, but after a group of bandits followed the signs and abused the people there, the members of the community turned cannibalistic.
10. Where Carl heals and Daryl continues his search for Sophia

Answer: The Greene Farm

If not for the walkers in the barn, the Greene Family Farm might have made an excellent long-term camp. Unfortunately, the farm catches on fire, and walkers overrun it.
