Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Many people loved "Seinfeld" and its cast of main characters: Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George. When it originally aired on NBC, what was the name of "Seinfeld"?

Answer: The Seinfeld Chronicles

It only ran one episode under the title "The Seinfeld Chronicles." The rest of the show's first season didn't air until almost a year later. The name was changed in part to avoid confusion with ABC's show "The Marshall Chronicles."
2. Before Ellen Degeneres had a smash hit talk show, she had her own comedy on NBC called "Ellen." What was "Ellen" originally titled when it first debuted?

Answer: These Friends Of Mine

The show's first season was titled "These Friends Of Mine." However, NBC changed the name to "Ellen" once it returned for its second season. NBC had a new hit show called "Friends" and didn't want people confusing the two.
3. The show "Lost" tells the story of individuals that survived a plane crash that landed them now on an island. Given the plot of the show, its name "Lost" makes sense, but it was originally going to be called what?

Answer: Nowhere

Although it never aired under anything but "Lost" as its title. The show's pilot episode was called "Nowhere." A network executive who thought of the show though didn't like it and commissioned a new pilot be written and called something different.
4. Everybody has seen at least one episode of "Happy Days." The show aired for 10 seasons from the mid-70s to the mid-80s, and gave us Henry Winkler as "The Fonz." What was "Happy Days" going to to be known as?

Answer: New Family in Town

As hard as it is to think of it being called anything other than "Happy Days", it was packaged to be sold to the movie studios as "New Family in Town." When the dust settled and a studio (ABC) picked up its rights, it was recast and given the title we now know it by.
5. Ah yes, those nerds in Pasadena that live in an apartment together. I'm talking about "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS. What was "The Big Bang Theory" going to be titled?

Answer: Lenny, Penny, and Kenny

Jim Parson's character, Sheldon Cooper, was going to be named Kenny, which would have given us "Lenny, Penny, and Kenny." After further talks amongst the creators and movie studio they went with "The Big Bang Theory."
6. Fox's television show "New Girl," is about a teacher who moves in with three guys, what was this show supposed to be called?

Answer: Chicks and Dicks

Creator Liz Meriwether pitched her script to 20th Century Fox with the title of "Chicks and Dicks." The show was supposed to be a comedy about roommates whose exes begin dating. Instead, the writers expanded the script and the show's title was changed.
7. Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski, A.C. Slater, Jessie Spano, Screech and Lisa Turtle. I'm referring to those teenagers from Bayside High on "Saved by the Bell." The show bounced between both Disney and NBC before staying put on NBC as "Saved by the Bell." What name was given to this series at first?

Answer: Good Morning, Miss Bliss

If NBC never picked up this failed show from Disney we would've never knew who these characters were and many of their careers may never have been launched. Once Disney declined any further interest in "Good Morning, Miss Bliss", the show's executive producer Peter Engel pitched it again to NBC with some changes and the rest is history.
8. Not that long before Ryan Reynolds (my favorite actor) made it on the A-list in Hollywood. He was on a show in the late 90s called "Two Guys and a Girl." What was it originally called?

Answer: Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place

"Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" was its title, but eventually the characters went on to do different jobs. Changing jobs led to the name being dropped and replaced with "Two Guys and a Girl."
9. We saw both John Ritter and Kathy Sagal star together in "8 Simple Rules", a comedy on ABC from 2002 to 2005. The original title came from a book from author W. Bruce Cameron, what was it called?

Answer: 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter

Unfortunately the series was cut short due to the death of John Ritter. The show's idea and plot was based off the book of W. Bruce Cameron's "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter: And Other Tips from a Beleaguered Father".
10. ABC's show "Dynasty" was a night time soap opera that was created in part to compete with CBS's much successful show "Dallas." What was "Dynasty" going to be debut as?

Answer: Oil

"Oil" was going to be the name because the family's wealth came from it. The first season didn't do all that well until the arrival of Joan Collins in the second season. The show lasted 9 seasons and some believe was better than "Dallas."
