Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What show was about two guys who hire a beautiful maid, much to the chagrin of their girlfriends?

Answer: We Got it Made

This show was in the top ten its first airing and then plummeted. It was a true turkey.
2. In this show, Greg Evigan and Kirstie Alley would recruit average citizens into a government crime fighting program. It was called _____.

Answer: Masquerade

It was always fun to watch the story unfold and see why they picked each individual. This show should have made it.
3. Desi Arnaz Jr., and Chuck Wagner; about a computer programmer that creates a holographic superhero.

Answer: Automan

Years later, this could occasionally be seen on the SyFy channel.
4. A science fiction comedy series starring Richard Benjamin as an intergalactic garbage man.

Answer: Quark

This show was very funny. It's one I'm always hoping will be rerun.
5. Mel Brooks show about the days of Robin Hood.

Answer: When Things were Rotten

'So when other legends are forgotten, we'll remember back when things were rotten, the days of Robin Hood'.
6. First it aired two separate mini-series in the early 1980s starring Marc Singer, and then it languished as a a full time series for one season in 1984/85. Later it was revived as a TV series again, lasting two seasons beginning in 2009.

Answer: V

The first mini-series was a wonderful allegory to nazi Germany. The series itself wasn't quite so intellectual. The reboot that began in 2009 was set in New York instead of the original Los Angeles, and even had Marc Singer guest star in the finale episode of the series.
7. This was a short lived spin off of 'Cheers'.

Answer: The Tortellis

It followed Carla's ex-husband and his new wife.
8. Although receiving the hot spot between 'Seinfeld' and 'ER', this show about an eccentric writer couldn't cut it.

Answer: Stark Raving Mad

The series starred Tony Shalhoub and Neil Patrick Harris and lasted a season. Tony went on to star as the lead in the highly successful USA Network series "Monk". Neil went on to become the womanizing cad with a hilarious ensemble cast on "How I Met Your Mother".
9. When the original 'Battlestar Galactica' ended in 1979, a new series was created in the 80s to continue the story. What was it called?

Answer: Galactica 1980

Too many special effects, not enough viewers killed this off early. It later earned a reboot in 2003 with a three hour mini-series. Afterward, a TV series of the original name lasted four seasons (2004-2009).
10. In 2005, there was a teen boy raising a mysterious sea creature that looked like a dragon, a marine biologist on the hunt for this mystery creature and a man determined to figure out what in the ocean killed his brother. It lasted one season and may have failed due to preemption from the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Answer: Surface

"Surface" starred Lake Bell and JR Ferguson. It culminated with a fantastic season/series finale, leaving viewers wondering what would ever come next. "Invasion" was about an alien intelligence body snatching people after a hurricane in the Florida Everglades. "Firefly" was a space Western by Joss Whedon that starred Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Gina Torres. "Threshold" sort of drew from "The Abyss", about an supposed alien craft in the Atlantic Ocean. All of these series lasted one season.
