In his happy place, the Angel of Good Times and No Hassles and the Angel of Readily-Available Food and Refreshments hand Brent a chili cheese dog before he returns to reality.

When Brent's cousin Carl returns to Dog River for a visit, he can't help but tell his somewhat boring stories about his time abroad. During their conversations, Brent always sneaks in a few insults, but he tells Lacey that he does it because he thinks that he's annoying.

When Emma goes to the gas station to pick up plant food, she runs into Carl and invited him and Brent over for dinner. Brent doesn't like the idea of Carl going over for dinner, because he feels emasculated by him.

Oscar attempts to return a case of empty beer bottles, but they're refused when the cashier realizes that the bottles aren't used anymore. Oscar decides not to bring business to the liquor store anymore and he leaves.

After Oscar's bottles aren't refunded, he goes to the police and Davis gets him away by giving him $1.20, but he still wants a formal apology. At home, he makes 'Oscarbrau', and Brent gives him another $1.20 before Oscar himself takes a swig of it. He ends up dumping the drink into Emma's tomato patch.

Everybody in town gathers to the community center for the talent show. Once there, Hank wonders what's happening and Brent tells him that the talent show is starting. Hank realizes that he didn't realize the date because Carl set Hank's watch wrong and it showed the eleventh.

Davis decides to go ahead with his ventriloquist act despite the fact that Karen disagreed with the idea of being his puppet. Instead, Davis uses a sock puppet (named Constable Blondie) and performs horribly. Karen also does a ventriloquist act and makes fun of Davis. Her act ends up being very funny.

Brent and Carl performed their comedy routine as the characters Shekyll and Dr. Jekyll. Brent played Shekyll a Catskills comedian, and Carl played Dr. Jekyll. In the end, they patched things up between them and performed well.

Lacey awards the prize to Hank despite the fact that he really didn't have much of an act, and Carl got really angry that everyone felt he was entertaining. In the end, Carl leaves Dog River, and Emma's tomatoes grow well (partly because of 'Oscarbrau').
